    I have never heard of this happening! It sounds like the fish should be able to recover on its own. I have no clue how you would fix a head injury on a guppy. I hope it gets better soon!

    I would suggest that you just leave it as it is and it will grow back. If you think about it, they fight and hurt each other in the wild all the time. Hope this helps!

    I agree with @Daniel . I have transported 4 in plecos in relatively small bags for 4 hours with no problems.

    I would suggest that you clean it about once every month. That is what I do and it works out fine.

    I have had the aquarium going for about 2 years. The temp is at 75 which is normal.

    I would keep it in 5 gallon buckets with lids in your garage or basement. I have not had problems with the substrate smelling, but I have never tried it with sand. You might as well try to save it and if it smells bad you could probably sell it on craigslist or at a local aquarium club.

    I have never kept anything that looks like that in the aquarium excluding some java moss. It doesn't look like java moss though. Thanks for the input!

    I agree with @ColuI would change the sand to something inert. I would also suggest adding some sponge filters in tandem with the 406 until the bacteria has had a chance to colonize on the sponge then you could remove the 406 assuming you don't have too many fish and do have lots of live plants.     40 ppm nitrate .2 ppm nitrite 160 gh 150 kh 7.4 ph I already added an airstone thinking there wasn't enough oxygen in the water. I will try a water change too. Thanks for the input!

    The aquarium was doing great then all of a sudden the fish started gasping and some died. The water also got a bit cloudy. All the water parameters are the same as they have always been. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

    The attachment spot for the airline broke off on mine after only one use. I was able to super glue it back on. Just thought it was unusual considering I have heard that it is such a great product.
