  1. Sounds like good advice to me. What kind of fry are in the small tank?
  2. I would turn that light up some. ETA: Turn them up a little bit at the time and see how it likes it.
  3. I like the 20 and the 29 gallon size. No big reason.
  4. I don't chase my PH either. It is what it is.
  5. Another live food that's easy to raise are flightless fruit flies. There are two varieties. The Melangastor are the smaller of the two. Lots of fish love them and they are super easy to keep going.
  6. Your lily looks great. I have one on the way for my tank. My first try at a lily. I hope it turns out as nice as yours.
  7. They look healthy to me. That said, I usually let my fish skip a meal at least one time per week.
  8. I have been a photo bug for a long time. Light is your friend, but you can have too little or too much. Nicely done. That lower light looks good on them.
  9. Thanks for sharing that video. I did not know they were partners with ACO.
  10. I have two chain stores in town, five minute drive at the most. About 15 miles up the road is the only locally owned store left close by. The one up the road is decent but not great at all.
  11. I would think so. You should be able to do the change within a couple of hours. They should be fine. I would make sure the water parameters were about the same in both tanks. Other than that I don't see a problem.
  12. Good news, I was wondering how that was going to go.
  13. Not sure how heavy it is planted, but I think the plants are using it all. Eight tetras in 29 gallons is a lite load. I bet if you fertilize it some more, nitrates will start showing up. Adding more fish will likely do the same.
  14. If it were me I would say something for sure. If she is truly a friend she shouldn't get offended. Bad thing is if she doesn't do something quick the fish probably won't make it very long. That's a hard way to learn. If it were me and I was doing what she did, I would want you to set me straight. Some people really don't like to be corrected though. Good luck.
  15. USA central Georgia. Been here all my life.
  16. Good looking setup. I like the before or the after. They both look great.
  17. I have been doing a lot of reading on the subject lately. The hobby has really come a long way. The problem right now is finding small parts of the puzzle. Where I live there seems to be shortages of all sorts of aquarium equipment. Finding air stones locally is next to impossible.
  18. Just wanted to say hello. I'm a retired trucker/auto mechanic. Been keeping fish off and on for most of my life. Seeing as I am now retired, I am setting up my first tank in about 12 years. Looking to learn and grow in the hobby. Scott
