  1. Pretty sweet that you’re working outdoors already. Your koi look pretty chunky in the pic. 🙂
  2. What a pretty pair of angelfish! Hope they successfully breed for you.
  3. It looks great! You’ll have tons of fry in no time.
  4. Oh now you’re just showing off. Lol. Multiple uses are always a great bonus.
  5. That is a classy looking pond! Really great job on the build!
  6. Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you have some sweet setups.
  7. That’s a really good idea!
  8. Always good to have an open tank for quarantine and as an emergency hospital. I really like Hugo’s pastel yellow color.
  9. Thank you for the info @Maggie! Maybe I’ll take a gamble ordering a bit earlier than I had planned.
  10. There is always that possibility from whomever you order from. I believe the only true snail free option is ordering plant cultures.
  11. Tank looks great flooded and planted! The water lettuce doesn’t look too bad at all. Did you order from a company relatively close to you and how’s the weather for you? I’m thinking I’ll have to wait to try and order since it’s pretty cold where I am and the company I get plants from is cross country. Soooo hard to wait!!! Lol.
  12. I know @Dean’s Fishroom uses furniture grade pvc. Unfortunately I don’t know the brand he uses or where he sources them.
  13. Don’t worry too much about it. You can add dechlorinator straight to the tank and just fill it with tap water. I’ve done this before when I wasn’t on well water and I have never had any problems attributed to it. I have even done 50% water changes with this method often when I kept fancy goldfish. I’m sure there are people who will rant against this, but that’s been my experience. Also, I have seen many others who have been keeping fish far longer and far more successfully to me who say the same. Like @TheDukeAnumber1 said, it may depend on your water parameters as well though.
  14. “Faux-hawk.” Lol. A good bit of algae always looks good in my opinion, just not when it gets out of hand. I don’t enjoy “sterile” environments that much.
  15. That’s an awesome project to be doing. What kind of goldfish are you planning to stock with?
  16. It’s always fun to see fry starting to get their colors in!
  17. That looks like one of my tanks even with maintenance. Lol. Hair algae is hard to fight off, for me at least.
  18. That is pretty wild!!! I knew common goldfish were hardy, but I’m still pretty shocked. I’ll never get why people think it’s ok to release aquarium fish into the wild though.
  19. That is pretty epic, coming up with your own recipe to feed Otos! Not only getting picky eaters to eat it, but having them thrive on it. I’m always amazed at what people can come up with and accomplish in fish keeping.
  20. Your plants look great! Don’t worry too much about attaching anubias to your hardscape, it really isn’t very difficult. After a while the roots will grab a hold of it pretty firmly. Will you be using super glue or thread? You can also cram it into any crevices. That has also worked for me. I’m interested to see how your dwarf lettuce comes in. I’ve been wanting to add a few very recently, but I’ve heard they don’t ship the best.
  21. Glad the little guy made it home ok! It’s always nerve wracking no matter how many times you do it. He’s a beauty and so many great name choices.
