This journal is the beginning of another successful breeding project from a method I have created over the last couple of years. I have made this from the help of my brother and father, learning from my mistakes, as well as taking a few tips and tricks from videos from the internet a long time ago. Please note breeding bettas takes time and dedication as well as responsibility from you, you must have patience and determination in order to experience one of the best moments in fish keeping and in my opinion, the natural world. Some people may disagree with my methods but that's alright, everyone can have their own way of doing things

Aloha everyone I’m back, I have a quick question and I’m sure it’s somewhere here but I’m having trouble searching it, but what age or size do betta fry need to be to be fed baby brine shrimp? I’ve just started my hatchery when the first few babies started becoming free swimming, I already have small organism colonies to feed them til they get larger, I’m just wanting to know when would be a good time to introduce the bbs? I don’t want them to just be in the tank and create more waste. Thank you for any assistance and hope you have a blessed weekend.

Hello everyone! My name is Sydney and I live in Roseburg Oregon. I kept fish as a child in a bowl, and in August of this year I bought a 6.8 gallon tank and dove right into this hobby. Currently I have a betta, pond snails, baby Ramshorn snails, and plants in the 6.8 (50W heater). I also got a 20H I got at the end of October because my betta had killed two nerite snails I tried to add, and then I noticed him pecking at my grandpa Ramshorn snails so I moved the snails into the 20H. Currently in the 20H (aquarium co-op sponge filter no heater), I have 2 grandpa Ramshorn snails, an assassin snail, a bunch of pond snails, 4 horned nerite snails, 4 low grade cherry shrimp (they were culls), and a bunch of plants. I included images of the 6.8 and the 20H but the 20H has algae on the glass so the image isn't too great. The 6.8 gallon tank I have has a built in sump filter that I do not like and I have been running the sump at the lowest setting I can and have a sponge filter going with the usb nano air pump. Is this too much flow for my betta fish?

A betta pair of mine has just laid eggs. They will be hatching right around the time I am going out of town for 4 days. Will newly hatched betta fry be ok in a well established, heavily planted tank for 4 days without feeding? Also, what is y’alls favorite food to feed betta fry? I intend to feed microworms. Thanks!

Soooo, I set up a 10 gallon divided tank with what I THOUGHT was 2 females, I came home from work today to find a teeny bubble nest and one of them (presumibably the male) frantically trying to keep the eggs afloat so I moved him to a bucket with as many eggs as I could. Now im very confused because the female is back in the division I left her in but I cant see any way she couldve possibly made it over but now ive got eggs... is it possible for a female to lay eggs and exhibit behavior of a caring male in the absence of a mate? note: all the litle specks at the bottom of the tank are eggs O.0
