    I've seen it used a lot, but no personal experience. I think boiling it is the correct way to go though.

    I am a complete newbie, but I would not think that a coarse sponge filter would help much with this. I'm guessing it will subside in a while, but a HOB with filter floss would speed it up. Take what I said with a grain of salt, and hopefully more experienced members will chime in.

    Just for future, in case I ever need it. Do you put the Epsom salt in your tank or do you prepare a separate container and put the fish in that for a specified amount of time?
