    I will definitely drop the light time down! I added 7 amano shrimp to the tank already (all the shop had) but will probably add a few more. It's a 55 gallon with only some guppies and a bristlenose pleco in it.

    I would say it does feel a bit like hair. To be honest, it's been a while since I've checked the parameters. The light is on from 8-12 and 2-8. Reading about green hair algae, seems like more frequent water changes are in order, as well as continued manual removal. 😕

    Running into a bit of an issue and I'm not sure how to handle it. I have this plant (algae?) overtaking my tank and it is really annoying me. I'm not even sure what it is. I've tried running without lights for awhile, but it didn't seem to help that much. Part of that might be because it is a well lit room. Manual removal is only partially effective because the stuff sheds pieces everytime you touch it. Does anyone know what it is and a good way to get rid of it?

    I would love to have a saltwater tank, but I am definitely intimidated by the maintenance and cost. Maybe one day...

    I can understand the "too small" side. Is it worth waiting to replace them? Idk... I'm an impatient person, so I probably would not wait. 😄

    Wow, that is a beautiful tank! The rock on the left and the "trees" on the right with a path down the middle. I can just see fish swimming down that path.

    I probably just missed it, but is there a tank size chart? I.E. one heater will run up to a 29 gallon, etc.

    I received this plant (can't remember the name) awhile ago, and it is growing like gangbusters. It appears to be putting off roots in the middle of the plant though. I'm sure I should be using that to propagate it, but I'm sure not sure the proper procedure. Any tips?

    The mouth and eyes almost look like some kind of puffer. Never seen one with a strip like that though. I'm also a newbie, so I am most likely incorrect.

    I've been interested in doing BBS, but I only have a 55 gal (very lightly stocked), 10 gal, and 3 gal. It always seemed like I would end up wasting a bunch. Also, what happens to the BBS that are released in the tank and aren't eaten right away. I assume they would just be picked off by the fish eventually, is that correct?

    Someone like @Colu would have a better answer, but I would think that you would want to a longer period than 2 weeks. I've seen people say a month before, but that was also with draining and drying the tank. I don't know if keeping the tank full would extend that.
