My tap water is 1ppm, do you think that would be enough ? -
Unless you wanted to do Ich-X afterwards (I think its a 3 day treatment). Pretty new myself so Im sure you'll get better advice.

You can use 1/4 of a pack per dose.

The Orville is great!

Dune isn't an easy series to take in, David Lynch's movie was far too ambitious. I think the new one has a lot of potential.

My favorite Sci-Fi book series is the "Cold As Ice" trilogy by Charles Sheffield. My favorite movie is Tron.

Can't go wrong with more plants, or test strips, and yet another spare nano pump 😉 -

The pygmy cories have all survived and seem to be really happy! Tank is doing great so far. Decided last night in the interest of getting some healthy fry for our porch pond and strengthen genetics, I ordered two more female guppies from a mutt pond guppy breeder. I also figured since we had 4 males and 2 females, we could remove stress from those two gals by improving the ratio 😉 I have no idea if either idea was sound, but it was an excuse to get a couple more guppies!

Great looking nano-tank! White clouds are a perfect choice.

Sponge filters made me scratch my head when I first got back into the hobby also. When I was a kid it was mostly under-gravel filters or cannister filters. Now I have them in all my tanks. We have them in addition to hang on backs on a couple. Co-op's is my favorite because like @Guppysnail mentioned you can add the air stone, and I also like the green color because plants can make it blend really well.

I gotta say, @Cory's talk made mine guppies too. Beautiful, tender, and delicious. 😉 For a plant, lets go with Water Spinach for a versatile pretty aquatic salad plant.

We're planning on waiting for the cycle before we place our order, then adding one species at a time. Do you guys think 1ppm ammonia is enough ? -

Just a Pygmy Corydora's Journal

I wish I could help more. But the advice has been great because we are dealing now with our Betta deteriorating too with very similar symptoms. We're using the right meds and hoping for the best. Hoping for the best for you too @Just a Pygmy Corydora -
Looking at these two products they seem very similar, is the only difference the concentration level? Does anyone have experience with them for fishless cycling? Another question: If my tap water is 1ppm Ammonia, is that enough to get the cycle started with either or both products? The only "beneficial bacteria" I've ever used up to this point is the Tetra stuff, which if I'm honest I don't know if it did a thing. Thanks!

Right now ours think they are guppies.

Personally I love Zebra Danios, not sure if they pair well but they do tolerate a wide range of parameters. Maybe the short finned variety to keep the fins safe.

On a somewhat related note to the recommendations, I'm having a heck of a time finding Chilis right now!

Angelfish live 10 years or so. Not sure if they would do well in 9 gallons.
