  1. I think I have that part figured out. With it being a porch pond, we have a light that wont be far from it. If I put a socket outlet in the light and plug a small USB bank in it, I should be able to run my smartphone and my pump.
  2. That would be awesome, but yeah that's way out of budget! 🙂
  3. Now you can get a lower end, but useable smartphone unlocked on Amazon for 50-75 bucks 🙂
  4. Not that I'm aware of, but it does have a LOT of good Amazon reviews with some pic and vid examples. I'm gonna be using an old smartphone to test it with just to be safe.
  5. I may have found a cheap, easy solution. It may take a little bit of DIY, but not much. A two pack of these buggers is 8.99, so I would just need to rig a cable for power in it by probably leaving the top of the bag out of water and some silicone. I can use the lanyard to secure it with a hook to the side of the tub I use for my porch pond. I've found a few aps that allow you to stream smartphone video to your home PC where I can pretty much put it where I want. These are supposed to be fully submersible to 100'. We shall see how this goes. 🙂
  6. No guppies to look at yet today, but they should arrive tomorrow! But what DID arrive along with my med-trio from Co-op was this gorgeous Nana Petite. Also what we affectionately refer to as the "rednecky" has melted some lower leaves but the top leaves are SUPER vibrant and the roots are going nuts.
  7. You're not kidding, these things are just striking!
  8. You might be able to get away with one Paradise Fish, I think an Empire Gudgeon might be too big. I think a Badis can do around 68F also. There's quite a few schooling/shoaling fish if you wanted more than a single. CPDs, American Flagfish, Zebra Danios, and Platies.
  9. Look for @BriannesFishFamtoo! She's getting a Twitch channel set up!
  10. Thanks @Jungle Fan, I may end up going that route and trying to rig up a waterproof housing for a normal webcam. I was just trying to get by the lazy way 😉
  11. It could be like our local hospital and every time a new baby is born it plays "Lullaby".
  12. Right? And how easy would it be to show off your aqua-babies if you can just whip out the ol' smart phone.
  13. Let me know if you decide to test out the waters with Twitch and I'll help spread the word so we can get you affiliate status 🙂
  14. With my recent struggle to find a decent camera for underwater streaming, I've decided that someone needs to make a tank (similar to this type) that has a built in wifi camera. You could stream your tank live, check on it wirelessly with your smart phone, etc. I thought it would work better mounted on the side so its not in the back staring out into your living room.
  15. I have my account setup, but I haven't set up to stream yet. I have two monitors. I'm looking for a camera now that will capture underwater footage I can stream, so externally powered. I'll let you know what I end up going with! I do follow a few Twitch streamers, and we have a good time talking fish in the stream.
  16. Come to Twitch! We need more aquarium streamers.
  17. It seems like it would be simple enough to make a cheap-ish webcam that would be submersible.
