  1. Maybe do a shared order with other people who would also like some, or ask your LFS to bring in one just for you?? Had the same problem with a betta, the vendor would only sell 3 males at a time (I guess he bred more than expected) so I just shared them amount a couple of buds.
  2. Out of the US, I have really struggled to find a decent aquarium magazine which one could just sit, read, and gain ideas from. The other day (while waiting in a cablecar) I thought: Why doesn't Aquarium Co-Op do their own? A downloadable, on-website, interesting, and monthly aquarium magazine which compiles all the blog articles and contains ads for Easy Green and Java fern (for example). User content is encouraged, and forum members would be able to share photos and experience, while knowing that they're helping the hobby. Aquarium Co-Op monthly would be targeted at the beginner to medium-advanced aquarist, with plant and fish recommendations, and a couple of funny memes along the way, all slathered with information and ambition. So how about it? What do you and @Cory and @Zenzo think? I expect the idea may have already been explored. Happy Halloween btw!
  3. I think @Dark River Aquatics has tried before.
  4. Huge aquarium with Arowana, snakeheads, pacu, and I'll throw in a couple of guppies & corys and see how long they last! Maybe a red-tail shark too, preferably albino
  5. @tolstoy21 seems to be a bit of an Apisto nerd on here. Any ideas?
  6. I agree, even across the pond I had to scour the web until I found some at Aquahaus Gaus in Germany (got 4 arriving for me on Tuesday, since Penny looks so cute). I expect breeding Bolivian Rams is a bit like breeding the dreaded convict cichlid: your best chance is offloading them to a wholesaler or just not putting too much effort into breeding them so you can take them to a swap. I expect it would be easier selling them if you could portray them as the step up from GBRs. Also ordered 6 in to my LFS, and I'll report back as to how they sell.
  7. Cooked works best, less stuff floating around
  8. The theory goes as such: BBS that hatch are full of protein (great for freshwater fish), but not with vitamins (bad for marine fish). By leaving some BBS in a Petri dish and dropping some vitamin concentrate in, after X amount of time they will be a superfood for marine fish. I've tried it once, it was a bit of a hassle but my angelfish fry loved it! I'm sure some other members have also done it before, maybe they can add to this. Typing this out in a hurry because school starts in 10, Bye!
  9. Baby brine shrimp, live lack worms, daphnia, and small pieces of bacon for crayfish and anything bigger than an adult angelfish
  10. Red-tail shark x panda Cory = Panda Shark!
  11. Tempted to try it, but I'm scared to pollute the water and throw the cycle out of balance.🤷‍♂️
  12. Thanks for the chart, very helpful!
  13. I have also experienced this in the past and I think it’s because they plant realized it didn’t have enough energy to make a flower and went for a leaf instead, although it could still become a flower. Mine did this and then sent up a seperate shoot which became a flower. Keep us posted on what happens!
  14. What would the absolute minimum be, I haven’t even started digging yet (the ground is frozen & under 30 cm of snow!)
  15. He’s a pest ( or bladder snail) who can reproduce by itself and colonize you tank within about 1-2 months, keep him or feed him to a larger fish. I think @Guppysnail has some golden variation of them if you’re interested in keeping some more interesting ones😏
