  1. I think those are white cloud babies. What kinds of ricefish are they? Ricefish babies are very small but mine are clear with small bright eyes.
  2. Hello everyone! I have been on here for about a week but I thought I'd introduce myself! Hi my name is Brianne and I am 12 years of age. I have been fishkeeping for about a year and 4 months. We have 75 fish tanks and starting up our own fish business now. We keep african cichlids, discus, angels, kribs, plecos, cories, livebearers, white clouds, ricefish, rams, tetras, gouramis, glofish, bettas, and so much more for freshwater. For saltwater we currently have an emerald crab, nassarius snails, turbo snails, banded coral shrimp, serpent sea star, clownfish, black chromis, yellow damsel, azure damsel, yellow dottyback, pajama cardinals, bangaii cardinals, gobies, wrasses, royal gramma, and neon goby. For freshwater we have tank varing from 4 gallons up to 75 gallons and all in between. We have 3 saltwater fish tanks. 16 gallon, 26 gallon, and 75 gallon. We just recently set up a fish room with about 40 freshwater fish breeding projects. We also have 4 cats and 1 dog, and 1 hamster. Thank you!
  3. Queens, meaning queensbury? If so you are 45 minutes away from me.
  4. Welcome to the fish forum! Hollar if you need anything!
  5. Welcome!! I would ask for a piece of each of the red plants, they draw your eyes to the tank. And then ask for a piece of the anubius, the are really nice plants (that is the plant in the front left of the picture) Just a suggestion.
  6. Sounds good, keep us posted. The plecos may be out during the day if they don't have a cave or a suitable one. M common pleco used to live in his cave during the day and then come out during the night, but now I think the fish either took over the cave or he is too big fr it. Searching around for a 12 inch long cave with a 10 inch opening or similar. Good luck!
  7. No problem, seed shrimp are fun to watch as well. If you have fish in there that will get 3 or more inches the will eat them up when the grow. I don't know the stocking if this tank so you might be able to keep your seed shrimp. If your fish end up eating them and you have algae issues, depending on the size tank, you can try a bristlenose plecos. BN (or bristlenose) plecos do a great job covering algae and detritus and said to break large clumps of detritus p to where the filter takes care of it better. If our tank is small (under 1-15 gallons) I would try 1 nerite snail per 5 gallons if water volume. Nerites are really good with algae and they are not that noticeable, the come in some very cool patterns. You don't have to worry about them multiplying in freshwater because I think it is the eggs hatch in either brackish or saltwater, I cannot remember.
  8. Our white clouds go down to about 58-9 at night right now and they are alive. But without doubt at 55 degrees you will have die offs.
  9. I would think to believe that the white clouds would be ok. I would worry more about the rosy barbs. They both only really go down to about 60 degrees. Their metabolic rate would slow dramatically. Is there a heated fish tank you can store them in?
  10. Water changes, culling some guppies, harvesting bbs.
  11. Two males common plecos together is not the best idea, however it can definatley be done. You may want to get some large pleco caves (we just got some large fish log hideouts with about a 6 inch opening, we'll have to get a bigger one soon) pleco caves are where the male plecos will spend most the day in and try to lure any female in and trap her to breed. Plecos are nocturnal, no during the day the two males may stay in their own caves, but during the nigh when they come out they may fight. I have never personally tried this, you can but just have a larger backup tank if things go south.
  12. Maybe the are water fleas, seed shrimp, perhaps daphnia? These three are microorganisms that can develop in your tank. While I doubt it is daphnia, since this is a live food culture, it could be, but I don't know if daphnia will develop naturally. What kinds of fish are in the tank? I am raising a few huge spawns of ricefish which are new borns in a breeder net, seed shrimp started swimming around in the net, my guess is the develop with seasoned tanks. From any research I have done, I do not think that the can or will harm fish.
  13. Looks similar to one we are testing with our african cichlid eggs. We normally would just let the mother hatch them and then release them from her mouth. What kind of eggs? With our setup I think the air is not strong enough and the eggs will fungus over. You could try rigid tubing directly infront of the eggs.
  14. Happens here too. Kribs, african cichlids, ricefish, guppies, swordtails. You have good luck
  15. Does anyone know how to breed zebra plecos? I found them for $20 a piece but you have to buy 25. Wondering if m lfs will take about 13-15 of them. Anyone know what size tank I would need?
  16. You can drain the substrate with a larger siphon hose. If you run out of water but still have substrate you can put some water in and then continue draining or you can scoop out the substrate with a cup or net or by hand
  17. @Beardedbillygoat1975 Awesome Thank you! I also found shrimp, CPDs, and Dwarf Emeralds on Jadren Aquatics
  18. @Beardedbillygoat1975Thank you! Do you know anywhere online that has CPDs?
  19. @Fish Folk Do you breed any out of those three?
  20. One way to rehome fish is by shipping, very easy process. Then you just have to advertise what you want to get rid of.
