The bigger enclosure with the black hides is for a Mojave ball python and the other one is a lavender Florida king snake these are off the internet since I don’t have any good photos of either the other pictures are of my rescue hognose and his enclosure I plan to get him some plants when they are back in stock locally but he still explores a lot sorry the glass is dirty in this pic
-
With more plants you will Notice they seem to explore more since they feel safer because they can be hidden while they hide the environment you set up sounds fine but the more cover you have the more they will explore
-
That sounds like a good base these are some of mine these are old pictures but you get the idea i can try and get some more if you would like you basically just want it as full as possible
-
That is a beautiful corn snake glad to see another snake owner here but may I Suggest some more enrichment and hides from this photo it looks a bit empty snakes like a lot of places to hide and things like fake plants to use as enrichment if it’s just this photo please correct me that is the thing about photos they only show certain things

When I set up a new tank I use water form another tank as well as the filter media form said tan depending on the size a tank like a 40 or bigger I’ll probably do a 50% new to old so it’s like a 50% water change but with smaller tanks like a 30 gallon and below I do 75-100% used tank water I can usually just put fish straight in or maybe wait a couple days if it’s brand new Substrate

I personally prefer a thick layer I have 60 in most of mine but you could do 30 I would say and it would look decent some plants need a thick substrate layer so It depends
-
Yeah they do that to me I think they just want food 😂
-
I have over 40 I’ll get some pics of them when I get up they are free roam though so I can’t promise pics of all of them but I have some decently rare breeds I couldn’t even Remember what breeds they all are and how many I have if them I remember when “I’m only gonna get a couple” was said just like fish 😂

Has anyone used bug zapper zapped bugs as a food for fish?
Chiclid addict replied to gardenman's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn’t do it just because of risk of Parasites and the zappers I have and most other ones the bugs are basically dust- 13 replies

Alternative Aquarium backgrounds
Chiclid addict replied to Jimmy Cleveland's topic in General Discussion
If you want the paint I recommend plasti dip since you can peel it off if you decide don’t like it later and it provides the same black look I use the rustoleum version this is a reptile one but it’s still basically the same my painting isn’t the best though 😂 -
I have a convict chiclid and when ever I get near a certain part of her tank she attacks the brush I use to clean algae off the glass
