I’ve never understood what nitrates and nitrites are I’ve just known what is good or bad so what are they and(because it’s always nice to know what others think) what is a good level of both I know nitrites should be 0 but what is good for nitrates

Crested geckos are and areial species so they will spend most of there time climbing, snakes are much easier to care (for me) but it’s all about what’s right for you and what you want I will pm your a crested gecko care guide that could explain this better
-
1. No 2. I would go with a snake but if you don’t want a snake I would say crested geckos are easier 3. depends on the species if your interested in live plants i would do a bio active setup for a crested gecko 4. There is prepared foods for crested geckos that are healthy and can be there whole diet 5. a crested gecko is gonna need a taller enclosure instead of floor space there really is not correct answer to this question I would say a MINIMUM of 20L for a leopard gecko and for a crested basically a 20L flipped on its side for this front opening is better for this too And last but not least DO YOUR RESEARCH I will send you a pm with some good youtubers since I don’t think I can post them

Under 5g in my opinion

They are 18.99 on the petco website but a little tip whenever you buy in store at a petco check their website online because in stores they always jack up the prices like I believe that 24.99 was the taco
-
I saw that yesterday while I was picking up a lid for my 10 but I wasn’t willing to pay there outrageous price and I try to spend as little as possible there as my local petco is owned by tetible people

I want to build a tank for a betta I just rescued and it’s gonna be a planted tank so what is the best light under $100 for plants on a 10g
-
I believe that they are only illegal in certain states they aren’t where I live I could walk In to my lfs and walk out with one what I’m noticing is that California seems to be the no fun state for fish glad I moved from there before I got into fish lol here is where they are illegal/permit required in us
-
So a buddy of mine wanted an axoltl so he went to his lfs and apparently they are illegal in ca so this raises the question what kind of fish are illegal where you live I don’t know of any where I currently live but I know there has to be a couple this is something we in the reptile community see far to often one person who got there reptile as a baby and now that it’s grown they don’t want it so they release it and that’s how this all starts and some places like Florida are really strict due to this

Is there a way I could use this tank
Chiclid addict replied to Chiclid addict's topic in General Discussion
I don’t have the rim as it came of in multiple pieces and I threw it away so I’m guessing that means this tank is totaled? -
I have a 10 gallon I want to use temporarily for a betta I just rescued but the bottom rim fell off is there a way I could actually use this TEMPORARILY
-
Depends on what you want to do I would at least get enough to make a frame for the tank to sit on

Fill it with silicone and while it’s wet put sand on it in a color that matches the wood

I would probably build a thing out of 2x4s
-
my advise would be to find a different less expensive addiction😂

Will aquatic pets be abandoned after the pandemic?
Chiclid addict replied to SWilson's topic in General Discussion
I do think that there will be a surge of abandoned animals after everything returns to normal many of the fish that have been hard to find will probably be easy to find due to everyone abandoning them. -
I personally use eco earth or forest floor but like I said this is just personal preference not and emergent thing this is a good video about it and him and aquarium coop did and axolotl tank together so I think I can mention him here
-
Another thing I just thought of is the aspen Beding there is no huge problem but I don’t like it just because it molds easily and is really dusty
