  1. sounds like a 38 gallon another option is repairing the leak
  2. I was thinking more for the person selling fish to local stores.
  3. You can still write things off and pay taxes on profits (if there are any) as a sole proprietor
  4. Picked up another cool tank today. I have a weakness for odd sized tanks and wood look plastic. $80 60x18.5x26 Needs reseal, seller already removed most the sealant. Did a pretty good job too.
  5. I buy this by the pound from a wholesaler who portions out the big bucket. It feeds similar to tetra tropical granules but they are softer and seem more natural. I also grind it in a pepper mill for smaller fish or fry.
  6. the 110 gallon stock tub by "tuff stuff" sold at tractor supply is what I use. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/tuff-stuff-products-heavy-duty-oval-stock-tank-110-gal
  7. The aqualog are reference books that are in English along with several other languages.
  8. The aqualog books are great for reference. They are German but use a symbol system that works with many languages. https://www.aqualog.de/en/produktkategorien/reference-books/
  9. what size micron/mesh combo do you use for the egg separation?
  10. If you don't want to wait for the Petco sale check pet supplies plus. They are currently running the same sale.
  11. Was thinking about using it the same way
  12. sounds cool, would like to try some. seems to be hard to acquire for me. Florida, USA
  13. I recently installed a "tank water" faucet on my sink next to the main faucet. It is tapped into my auto water change chloramine removal system. I mainly use it for brine shrimp rinsing and filling the ziss hatchers. Before installing I cleaned my sponges, hatched and rinsed brine shrimp daily in chloramine water with no negative effect. I now clean and fill using the filtered faucet.
  14. I built my own battery backup for my central air pump. It would work for your application as well. Although its likely overkill. If you are home for the outage and dont mind doing a manual change over. A generator works long term while noisy. For low power demand that doesnt need a pure sinewave you can also use tool battery inverters. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-175-Watt-Powered-Compact-Inverter-for-M18-Batteries-Tool-Only-2846-20/313297952 https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-150-Watt-Power-Inverter-for-ONE-18V-Battery-Tool-Only-RYi150BG/308460871
  15. they make a smaller linear piston that may better suit your needs. It will still be overkill but less than the 45. Model #LPH26 115 VAC, 29 watts @ 1.5 PSI 34 LPM @ 1.5 PSI
  16. Sounds good. Are you a member or have you considered joining a fish club? There are some great ones near you. Pasco = http://pascofish.com/meeting-location/ Tampa Bay = https://www.tbas1.com/TBASpages/meetings.html Pasco just had its yearly swap meet and the meeting before had a huge auction. Worth checking out if its close enough.
  17. Most use the vinyl tubing from the pump output then connect it with a barb to solid pvc. If you use flex for the entire loop I think you will find it more challenging to secure it and drill it for your air valves.
  18. I am in Pinellas park area. My friend has a store called "living color tropical fish". Other stores that may be able to help are "marine warehouse aquarium" in tampa and "fosters exotic pets" in tarpon springs
  19. I agree. When I kept multifasciatus I tried to setup the tank to resemble their natural habitat. I had mine in a 40B 3" or 4" of pool filter sand, several xl escargot shells. Breeding will occur and if the colony gets too big you can just net out sub adults or larger if/when its necessary.
