  1. I would suggest pvc elbows with end caps if you are trying to setup a bare bottom tank for breeding only and dont care about the looks. The shells its difficult to remove the fry/mother Deep sand bed with lots of shells if you want a great tank to enjoy. They will still breed but will be harder to remove fry if trying to mass produce them.
  2. that stinks. Well the tank has been fully disassembled with no cracks or damage. Currently working out what size of tank I can make using the pieces. something cool like a rimless 48x29x12H using 1/2" just have to make sure none of it is tempered first. Might have quite the surprise trying to snap it
  3. Petco stocks the aqueon 15g but its usually around $40 and never included in the dollar per gallon or 50% off sale
  4. I am in Pinellas Park Florida, what state was the storage unit in?
  5. im 6'2 and couldnt touch the bottom with it standing upright
  6. I should add that it has been poorly resealed one or more times. The center brace was busted and it had several nicks in the end panes. I have already broke down the tank and will try my hand at cutting the super thick glass to make a smaller rimless style tank out of it. Something similar to the 50 gallon lowboy.
  7. I got a tank for free today. It has the footprint of a 55 but is way taller. 48x12x29 wondering if any one has ever seen or kept this size before? The glass on the big sides and bottom is 1/2" while the end caps were 1/4" to 5/16"
  8. how many tanks? I do think wrapping the rack in insulation will definitely help keep the heat in. I would think about a grow tent that is ventilated with a humidistat or hanging plastic sheeting to create a smaller room that can be heated/dehumidified
  9. I think the co-op sells the soda bottle base brine shrimp hatcher. It lets you screw in a soda bottle upside down. I tried to find it on their site but couldnt. maybe they only sell the ziss now. I would still recommend the ziss hatchery and just filling it with less water
  10. Its a great tool to have in your fishroom. Ive used it several times with corydoras and bristlenose
  11. multifasciatus can be pretty good defenders, they are also great at darting into their shell, it seems like they never miss
  12. I use these colors for the bottoms and sides of my tanks.
  13. For the people with the problems are you using the red/brown or the black. I know the rock base is different between the two.
  14. Exhaust can actually increase humidity with the makeup air if it is more humid outside than the room.
  15. Sorry I just checked and I have it set on 55%
  16. You can buy a slip to thread valve and screw in either a barb in the future or an air muffler
  17. For the unused barb end I would put a valve. You can close it if not using the barb. You can also open it to bleed excess air.
