  1. That is as great looking fish!
  2. You won't regret buying a hatchery! I just have the plastic bottle one and some coop brine shrimp eggs and it works really well. I have heard great things about the ziss one though.
  3. Im sorry to hear of the problems in the 15. The other aquariums are coming along nicely though!
  4. I personally think a 26 would be pushing it however you could probably comfortably house a young one for a few yers before needing an upgrade. I think that the other tank mates you have thought of would be good choices as they are quick and can get away when the red tailed shark gets in a bad mood.
  5. Welcome to the forum! That aquarium looks better than any of mine lol. I love all the live plants and you have made some great stocking choices!
  6. Nice scape in the 5 gallon! I love that aquarium!
  7. One male and three females is a good ratio. You can do almost any number but the more you have the more water changes you will have to do. I would probably do no more than 15-20 full grown fish in the 36.
  8. I would probably let it go for maybe another hour and if he doesn't figure it out by then I would just try to pull it out with a pair of tweezers. Make sure you don't take him out of the water though because he might puff up with air and I've heard that is very bad for them.
  9. What fish do you have it stocked with? I believe I see a few tetras.
  10. You might be able to find some on online sites other than the coop.
  11. Wow that sounds like a lot of work to save some snails! Good work! Once those plants grow in a bit that aquarium will look amazing!
  12. I would add the shrimp first and let them establish a strong colony before adding the puffer. That way the shrimp will have a head start as the puffer will definitely hunt them down.
  13. I know in saltwater aquariums they top off with fresh water to keep the salinity stable because the minerals don’t evaporate with the water. I’m not sure however if this translates to freshwater.
  14. I personally wouldn’t intentionally add duckweed. I made that mistake lol. Anyway, you could try using some tougher plants like anubias or Java fern. I also like crypts as they are decently hardy.
  15. Welcome to the forum! Those are some great plant choices!
  16. That is exciting! It will be nice to have some first hand info on pregnancy length of these great fish!
  17. Your aquariums and stocking choices are very cool! I’ll love seeing how they evolve!
  18. I saw some of these fish at a lfs and thought they were stunning! I am kicking myself for not picking them up.
  19. 75 is my favorite that I have had so far. I haven’t had a 40 or 60 breeder yet so I can’t comment on those but a 75 is great because it is a manageable size but you can still keep lots of cool, larger fish. It also has a great footprint!
  20. My dream fish is a schoutedeni puffer. I haven’t had a chance to buy one but I don’t think I would right now even if I had the chance because I don’t feel like l am skilled enough to keep one properly currently. I like how they are pretty much mini mbu puffers and can be kept with other fish and have great personality from what I have heard.
  21. That should work well. I use crushed coral under my substrate and it still helps a bit so I would think if you have it in mesh bags exposed to the water it would work even better.
