  1. Hi all, I am new to shrimp and wanted to do an awesome nano cherry shrimp tank. I want to do some like a palladium, where there is drift wood going down into the tank to look like roots and at the top some plants growing out the top. I thought a tallish cube rimless tank would be good but I don't want to spend a bunch of money. Dose anyone have any ideas of what could work. I have been looking into like a large glass jar, and some other things. I am thinking something 5-10 gallons. Any ideas? P.S. I may document the build on this forum.
  2. Hi, I got my fish some frozen blood worms and brine shrimp. On the way home I had to do a few things. They were out in open air for about two hours and then were cold for 6 hours, only then did I get them in the freezer. Do you think I can still feed my fish it or is it not safe? Thank you!
  3. Oh, and hit the like and subscribe button!
  4. I have been told that betas don't need heaters .
  5. I love java fern, especially narrow leaf.
  6. I guess you could top off with hard and alkaline water. I just a few days ago realized that I have not done a water change on my 10 gallon planted betta tank since Covid began... And everything is fine.
  7. Only if they are captive bred. However sometimes the breeding business is sketchy, I here that some of them will take from the wild to help there breeding process if the want a certain genetic, or more fish. I would just know where the fish are coming from before you get them. PS I don't keep wild caught fish even if they are not endangered. I just feel bad about what they must feel, I had some dojo loaches that were best friends, then one died and the other one didn't move much for a week. I think they are smarter than we think.
  8. Yes, CO2 is lost when adding an air stone. I am planing to set up a yeast based CO2 injection that runs 24-7. And a Air stone that kicks on at night.
  9. Yeah, I think it is Hydra. They pray of fry. They are safe for most fish, but anything smaller that 1/2 inch will get eaten. The cool thing about them is that they don't age. And so in theory could live forever. They catch their food by giving small electrical shocks into the fish. Any fish under around an inch would be agitated by the stings, but it is only deadly for like tiny fish and fry. My neon tetras peck at them, and I see them jump back from the shock. Then they are fine.
  10. I would not add an air stone, because it would be pumping cold air into the tank.
  11. You may already know this but if not then... I would try to fix the imbalance in the tank. Has any new variables come into play? Like extra light from a window, new light, or new fish. If this is it then I would try to balance out the 3 variables, light, fertilizer, and CO2. If there is new light from a window I would add more fertilizer, and more CO2. Or you could turn of your tank light earlier. It just needs to have an equilibrium. Also I think a blueish aquriam night light can cause BBA.
  12. You probably know this, but if the PraziPro is clear or yellowish it has went bad. It will go bad during shipping if the temperature is wrong. Apparently it is common to have ineffective PraziPro. It should be pink, but no body told me what sort of pink it should be? Mine was clear/pink and I don't think it worked.
  13. Yeah, there jaws are very complex, I know this is true for cichlids at least. Most people put their cichlids out of their misery if they hurt there mouth lip locking or something. I would still give him a chance though.
  14. Goldfish grow to the tank size, and green water means the tank is dirty. I ended up doing lots of water changes.
  15. I know this is not about fish disease, but the disease thread was made so we could save lives, and the ecosystems of our tanks, so I thought it was related. It looks like it, but it is not click bait!
  16. I am now adding some salt to my sick neons. You gave me that recommendation in a past stream. My family is interested in how salt works. (spreading the fish nerd community)😆
  17. Haha. Cory I am a big fan of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am taking a break from my online homework just to watch the stream.
  18. Who is going to be watching Cory's live stream today? I am so excited!
  19. Check this out!!!!!!!
  20. I have heard that oak is safe. Lots of people use it. As long as you boil it for a long time it is good.
  21. I would try to treat him first, but if it just gets worse I would euthanize him. Just note, salt takes time, so I would leave him there for a week or more.
  22. I guess it is not a product but Asian arowanas. I know they are not allowed for a good reason. As hard as it is we must conserve and restore the wild! I wished we did not have the issue of Asian arowanas being endangered in the first place. Hope my kids don't have the environmental issues we have today! I want to say, I hope I don't get banned for saying my opinion on the environment because I don't think it is political. Just a good idea to keep our home habitable for us and animals. (Rant alert😆)
