The shrimp enjoyed some of a cabbage leaf today but once I took that out they made their way to the hair algae. Can you see the shrimp through the algae?

Snails unaliving themselves filter?

Agreed! It’s very beautiful! And that snail is having a great time! I have no luck with ludwigia.. 😞 I’ve had these sprigs that I’ve been moving from tank to tank in hopes they will be happy somewhere but they are in this perpetual state of looking “just good enough” to not throw away, and yet, they don’t look all that healthy. I may try potting them with just rock wool and root tabs to see if that might perk them up. On the other hand, I have some emergent moneywort in my Walstad jar that I can try “topping” to propagate.

That’s great! I noticed mine accepting zucchini sometimes. They seem to have particular interest in the rind. They tend to go after that after the shrimps or mysteries have eaten the inside part. Your snails had fun decorating that driftwood! I also like to pinch Repashy powder under the water for the nerites. And bacter ae- 2,923 replies

Looks like mating to me. My brother and I would say our fish were doing the “yin yang” when we had our cichlid tanks. I notice some barbs have plump bellies. Could barb fry be in your future? 🤔 -
Snails unaliving themselves filter?
Chick-In-Of-TheSea replied to Biotope Biologist's topic in General Discussion
I can’t really tell from the angle what type of intake you have, but is a pre filter sponge an option? Co Op sells them, and in the details of the product you can lookup your specific filter and see which sponge size is appropriate. -
I have not seen that coloration before.

I have good luck with feeding vibra bites. My tetras will get some but some will also make it down to the ram. Also if you do the frozen brine shrimp cubes, those disperse pretty well throughout the tank so everyone gets some. -

You need a fish that likes to eat them. Even if that fish lives in a different tank. You can feed the worms to the fish.- 423 replies

The mailman moved the lazy Susan to the parcel locker yesterday and I was able to retrieve it. The item does not look exactly like what I ordered, but it is labeled heavy duty so I tried it overnight with my kettlebell on it. It spun fine last night and this morning. Now I can show you the whole jar from all angles.

Mystery snail eggs & inverts journal
Chick-In-Of-TheSea replied to Chick-In-Of-TheSea's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
WARNING about the video. It contains an incident where a snail gets hurt. So I’m feeding bloodworms and I think it’s so cute that Woodstock caught one mid-level, so I started taping it. A tetra comes and tries to get the worm. Missed. A second attempt but the tetra miscued and got her feeler. She’s ok I think. She immediately started eating worms off the bottom, but she curled her antennae to protect them. I guess just monitor..? @Guppysnail Also here’s some of the new kids: Kid with extra new kid:- 1,895 replies

That small bit of Repashy cube I put in there.. man, those bladder snails went after it! They pushed their way through all those shrimps to latch onto that. Maybe I will have like 15 bladder snails next week. 😳
