  1. So the mailman placed the lazy susan in my mail locker. And while it fits from his side, due to a lip, I can’t get it out from my side! 🙄 So I left a note in the mailbox…
  2. Lol I forgot I even said about the sand but I was just looking through the journal again at all the speculating and such that we did and I found it and started laughing
  3. ⬇️ . ⬇️. ⬇️. ⬇️ ⬆️ ⬆️ ⬆️ ⬆️ ahem. 😉
  4. Whatttt! This is crazy! What kind of sand did you end up going with? It looks nice! How is there a baby already? The stork must’ve flown that in and kerplunked it in your tank.
  5. I am wondering if we can’t just put the hose out in the sun for a few and let the UV light kill the things. @nabokovfan87 Provided the hose isn’t clogged but just dingy looking. Yep! I started using a single-step stool after seeing one in @Katherine’s post. Very convenient! While we are on the subject, I believe @Colu cleans their pump and hose but putting it in the tub and running it overnight, but I can’t recall if it was a peroxide solution or a bleach solution. Either way, that’s another way to accomplish the task.
  6. There is but when I tried to quote it, it wanted to highlight all the things… 🙄
  7. This is so awesome @Fish Folk and mini Fish Folk! The fry at 1:02 - sooo adorable! Great job! I like the "credits" at the end too 🙂
  8. What type of snail is it that is cleaning the shell of the mystery snail @Miska? Aren't these beauties!
  9. The hairgrass has been staying put so it must have rooted. Hooray! And I flicked on the room light last night.. I believe I interrupted a little date! I have a lazy susan coming from Amazon. It should arrive in a few days. It's a heavy duty one that can hold a monitor, or a potted plant, so I think it will work nicely with the weight of my jar. I notice the shrimps tend to get startled when I turn the jar (it must sound like an earthquake to them), so I think this will be a good solution. Since my light is not attached to the jar, I don't have to worry about the cord while turning the lazy susan.
  10. This topic has been brought up in some of the Aquarium Co Op videos. Fish tanks are different from nature in that they are a much smaller, controlled environment. In the wild, fish have large bodies of water, and that works to their advantage in diluting things that are harmful to them, such as ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. One video I watched the other day explained that high nitrates for fish are the equivalent of a human being stuck in a smoke-filled room for a long period of time. Over that time if conditions do not improve, health will deteriorate. I like to test my water to ensure that the pets I have adopted and taken responsibility to care for are comfortable.

  12. That’s great because my snail shells have algae and I’ve been wondering how to prevent that and keep them lookin cute.
  13. Hey, so I added maybe 5 sprigs of hornwort and my nitrates dropped by 10 in just a few days (4 days). The hornwort just floats around at the surface. After a couple water changes I was at 20, and the hornwort brought me to 10.
  14. What are those bluish purple fish in the first photo? They are very beautiful!
  15. Really? Hahah, too funny. Snoopy has appointed herself as snail supervisor as well. And inspector of all snail food. She occasionally helps with quality checking the snail menu to ensure it is adequate. Snoopy has been doing a little bit of glass surfing and I wonder how I can improve the habitat. Unless this is her way of begging for food between meals (I wouldn’t put it past her).
  16. Way to think ahead! That should make it easy for you.
  17. That might hold up in kangaroo court.
  18. Snoopy seems bored. I put a swim-through in there for her. @xXInkedPhoenixX do you ever get that feeling about Punk?
