  1. Well from what I seen of this I think I'll pass on keeping the snails it's best to know B-4 getting these, nerite snails won't breed in a aquarium or in aquarium water unless it's brackish waters.
  2. I should have known better when I did it, but it is what it is I got some plant's from LRB a while back, Well when I got the plant's I seen 1 snail in the bag & I asked him about what kind of snail it was & he said it was a Ramshorn. I didn't think nothing of it & here it is a just a few mons later & have a tank load of snails from just a few plant's yea I know about washing plants B-4 you put them in your tank, but I didn't & now I'm loaded with them. SO, I'll do some research on Ramshorn snails & see just what I can find out about them & are they worth keeping I have nerite snails cause they don't breed, but apparently Ramshorn snails breed like rabbits & that's not what I want. So does any 1 want them or can I just put them in a tank to let them multiply to feed to the yo-yo loaches ? & do they have to have air on filtration ? any suggestions or ideas, thoughts, I'll be glad to try cause I don't need as many as I have right now which is more than I want. I'm going to take what fish I had in the 30 gal to the pet store tomorrow & take most of the snails too but the 1's I keep will be food for the yo-yo loaches that's why I have to find out what needs to be done. Thank You for your help & suggestions.
  3. Rainbow shiner need higher DO < what is that "DO" as long as the DO is high. I'm totally lost on what that is.
  4. From what I see that's not going to work with a 75 gal aquarium & 20 fish all different breeds going all over the tank like crazy but thank you for the suggestion & video.
  5. Well if that's the case, it's strange people would say something that's not true about aquatic plant's when a lot of people swear by what they say & have success with them.
  6. I've heard they are a heavy root feeder, as a matter of fact just take a look at this video that says they are off the top How to Grow, Care for & Propagate Amazon Sword Plants
  7. I'm wondering if heavy root feeding plant's grow better in a pot my amazon swords don't seem like they are getting enough to grow, so I'm thinking maybe they would do better in a pot. I had 3 of them & they have all died on me & that sucks cause they were looking so good at 1 point & getting bushy & red & I got 2 yo-yo loaches & they kept uprooting them & died. How do you plant your heavy root feeders to keep them in the substrate where they don't get uprooted & stay alive ? I'm tired of replacing plant's for this that or the other reasons. I can't seem to grow hornwort, or any Anacharis done tried it not just once but a few times & they just don't grow for me not sure why, stem plant's is no problem but floaters are.
  8. I think the red flame amazon swords are pretty cool looking they get a decent size to them, they good for fish to hide in.
  9. I have a 75 gal I have to disrupt so I can catch 14 rainbow shiners 4 wcmm & 2 yo-yo loaches which is going to be fun in that size of a tank so do you have any easy solution on how to do that ?
  10. What kind of pump do you use & how big is your pond & how many fish do you put in the pond ?
  11. Yea that's what I was thinking + I don't really like shipping fish so that's why I said sell them to the store when I get too many. The submersible light sounds like a no brainer if you ask me cause you wouldn't use that much power as you would a heater, the only thing I have noticed is they'd have to be winter tubes, cause the water even in all day shade still gets in the upper 80's so I can't risk that with either 1 of them.
  12. I do have submersible lights, That's a really good Idea something I didn't even think about Thank you for the great tip, 👍 I'll have to remember that 1 for sure. I had Pond goldfish in the stock tanks & being I sold them & not doing anything with them, I thought about starting a pond for the WCMM & another 1 for the rainbow shiners, which could hold a lot of fish in there. And when it gets over crowded sell some off to the pet store & get some extra credit for stuff or sell online ? it just all depends on how things go the next 6 wks.
  13. "Rainbow shiner need a cooler setup and more oxygen." Okay, I can do that with the shiners, "White cloud is easy" if you aren't going to run any pump. < I plan on a pump but I was thinking if the power went out & I was gone which 1 of the 2 would HAVE TO have a pump going. From what I think your saying is the shiners have to have circulation & oxygen more than the white clouds right ? I'll have to check out some of your videos on this to make sure to follow what you have done to succeed with them can you send me some videos on this matter please ?
  14. That's what I was thinking & if I can keep it above 50 they should do good, Cory I think has a video about it but I think it is on rice fish not any of the shiners or minnows.
  15. How many would be a good start in a tub that size ? I have plenty of air pumps to get air to the tank & I have plenty of leaves (oak & tulip maple) & how cold can they be in without killing them? I have a good heater I can use.
