    The males tend to have a longer beak and occasionally 'fence' with them. Try looking for a gonopodium, only males have them.

    Sad to hear that you'll have to tear down the tank!?! It's been a pleasure following your journal and I admire how despite the workload you get at University you have managed to keep a functional aquarium looking great 👏👏👏, I'll try and replicate that in a couple of years time 😁. May I ask what you're studying at University?

    I had a couple of Nannacara Anomala spawn about a year ago. Beautiful cichlids, but after spawning the female almost killed the male! Fiercely defensive during spawning season, but very tolerant otherwise. A fellow fishy friend told me once that if ones died it means there's a spawn!
