  1. Sweet! I use bbs also, it help them grow fast enough to get them on .1mm pellets. I noticed feeding alot off bbs for a long time creates too many runner. I like all my frys to be the same size possible.
  2. @JoefishGofish the first set starting to color up so I'm moving them down to the bigger tub 180gallon moving the the second set outside to the top tub 110gallon Still have the third set in the fishroom lol
  3. Here's a photo of father and son. Father is now 4 year old, and not look good anymore. They don't get to live this long in the wild, so their body isn't made to survive this long. Son is turning 2 this year and have great conformation, alot of blue running on the side of his body. Main goal is to have these fish color up sooner in their life and show more color when "turn off/not breeding mode". I'm getting there, females started to look great and showing alot of blue. Only problem with all these colorful female, its getting harder and harder to sex every year...lol
  4. Ok this will be my very last batch of the year lol I'm going to leave the females in with the males after this, they can breed as much as they want, but I won't collect their eggs. This way it help keep the female from getting egg bound
  5. He his my favorite fish right now, been with me for 10 years now.
  6. I breed too much to keep in aquarium, so mostly all the shiner are kept outside..white cloud does fine also
  7. No, not til they are a few weeks old. They need something that is very fine when hatched
  8. They are fighting, it could still be a male and a female with the female is being dominant also
  9. They are golden and yes they can breed. Here my golden longfin breeding stock
  10. At first glance I was like...Robert brought in some really nice rainbow shiner with ton of blue on them, wonder which farm they came from?..lol @Fish Folkthey turn out really nice, hopefully you was able to breed some babies off them.
  11. Crayfish is a bit tricky to breed, either they mate or they are going to fight..make sure to have a few pvc pipe/hiding spots just in case they don't mate.
  12. How long did you wait before you test again? I normally for a heavy water change to be on the safer side and test the water 12-24 hours later.
  13. It happen a few time to me before, not much you can do but move on, that's the risk of shipping online. But I do mark their email and address as "no ship". Their are alot of great hobbies out their don't let these bad apples ruin it for you.
  14. In my experience those are more aggressive than the bluemoon I breed. You'll need 3 aquarium. The 3rd aquarium is for the male and female to meet up in new/neutral ground.
  15. I spawn my breeder in a 20long, but all my fry grow out in a 10.. I like 10 cause it keeps them closer to each other and closer to the food. 2 bucket is 100% water change. I keep them in there till I can't keep up with the water changes. I raise them in there till they can take .2mm pellets, then I'll move them outside. I feed them powder food/ bbs, then .1mm pellets, then .2mm pellets. When they are eating .2mm pellets really good they either get crush flakes or my main mix of .5mm pellets
  16. Blue Pinoy Veil Widefin Angelfish would be what I breed..I would work going toward black body and blue fin
