  1. @Odd Duck, here are screenshots of editing my signature, specifically the Aquariums link. Selecting text: After hitting the link icon:
  2. @Odd Duck, if you carefully select the existing text per entry, you can hit the link icon to edit or replace.
  3. I realized that my signature links go back to the first post for each. This would be annoying for anyone who has already read anything. I tested adding this to my signature links, and it seems to work. It needs a ‘/‘ before it, which my links already had. ?do=getNewComment Don’t quote me. I was previously copying from the first post, which might be right for a FAQ, but not necessarily a journal. In testing, I noticed that @R Budds documented how to copy those links! I just took a guess from the unread posts link. I would recommend this edit for signatures.
  4. @Rikostan, FYI, there were some recent threads about aquarium clubs in your extended region.
  5. @sweetpoison, my journal shows my evolution with this style. I have learned a lot!
  6. @sweetpoison, there are some of us on the forum who run organic soil tanks. There is not a fixed recipe, but I recommend reading Diana Walstad for some good information. If you choose Miracle Gro, just make sure to get the organic formula, and nothing with Pearlite, or anything for ‘moisture retention’. I found a local composter where I can get soil for a dollar per scoop. I prefer a gravel cap over sand. Plant heavily from the start.
  7. If this is neocaridina, you could remove the heater, and run minimal filtration. A sponge filter turns detritus into shrimp food. Add plants and wood!
  8. Link removed for being strange. It showed a snake with chicken eggs.
  9. I had to hide two posts for vendor links. Please check the guidelines!
  10. @Bev C, the forum should be able to handle and resize any jpg and png images. Videos are best shared via YouTube. Try the images without the videos for now.
  11. Please respect the guidelines for this type of topic.
  12. Outdoor tubs are a great opportunity to test organic soil with a gravel cap. Make a mess, add wood and plants.
  13. Please also avoid the formula of negative rhetorical questions. “Why is Shelbyville so much worse than Springfield?” This makes the assumption that ‘everyone’ shares the same negative feeling, and then asks for validation of this premise. This is often bait for an argument. Please do not engage, and report if necessary.
  14. I haven’t had a chance to take photos or videos of my Askoll Pure system, since I’m currently running the tank with a different setup. I did do a search, and there are some videos: https://m.youtube.com/results?sp=mAEA&search_query=Askoll+pure I still have not met anyone else in forums or chat who has one of these. I really liked the whole setup and filter, but I pulled it to upgrade my lighting. I might try to fit my 3.0 into it someday.
  15. @nabokovfan87, have you tested those 3D-printed Nano mounts for rimmed tanks? I commissioned the design but still have not tried them. @Kevin2022, I tested Nanos directly on glass, but added felt corner pads in past setups, just because. The Nanos are all aluminum, and basically diffusing heat sinks. The long lights have more plastic, but I dropped one in water, and others have been sprayed by bubbles and/or splashing for years.
  16. Thanks for helping curate this thread. I really wanted to give everyone the best starting info and FAQs, but I counted on the community to add details.
  17. Please keep the wood! It is a stabilizing platform, and a slow source of food.
