Fluval Plant 3.0 Scheduling and Programming

A sunrise or sunset is just a two point triangle in pro mode, aka a ramp-up, or ramp-down. You have ten set points in pro mode to play with, although I wish there were more.- 360 replies

Water refill dispersion tool - Anyone have one?
Streetwise replied to nabokovfan87's topic in Experiments
@Torrey, when I top-off water, I pour from a small pitcher onto wood, to disperse the flow. For new aquariums with layered substrates, I have poked holes in empty gravel bags, and poured water onto the bags. If I were feeling experimental, I might put foam media in a breeder box, and pour into that. -

I did an optional system update, and @Cory updated some modules. The streams (unread, etc.) seem to be working again. @TheDukeAnumber1, Let me know about the current thumbnails, as we can do an automated image rebuild if necessary.

Water temperature for aquarium plants
Streetwise replied to Janet0308's topic in Plants, Algae, and Fertilizers
I ditched all of my heaters because I don’t run hot fish. The plants are happy with any room temperature. -
What music are you listening to these days?

I love using topsoil for plants. I hope that this forum has shown that it is easy and simple. I prefer a gravel cap so mulm can join the soil.

@JoeQ, if the window light is significant, maybe let your light go to zero during that time segment.- 360 replies

Fluval Plant 3.0 Scheduling and Programming
Streetwise replied to Streetwise's topic in Community Resources
@JoeQ, it is really going to be specific to what window light you have. I have a few tanks with only window light, and one tank where I had to install blackout curtains to stop window light. Try something and report back in a month!- 360 replies

You do not have to use those hinges for glass lids, if you have a way to open a slice for feeding or access. When I use glass lids, I will measure, and get glass cut and champfered from a local glass window shop. You can get a custom fit for super-cheap, and made very quickly. I think I paid about $15 and waited 15 minutes.- 360 replies

This video is amazing, @Cory! I want to figure out how to do the floating wood for my cousins’ pond.

I did a lot of research, and am very happy with my 55” LG C1. They now have a C2. I am very picky. I also did all the research to optimize settings with my Apple TV, HomePods, and Xbox Series X.

@Torrey, your three questions are excellent, and with a spin, apply to all hobbies.

Mulm will help enrich the substrate, grow plants, and provide grazing food.

Great topic! Mine are done with organic soil, so I start with a big nutrient battery.

I’m very specific about my forum effort. I’m not sure we could enjoy such a detailed thread on any other forum. Thank you!

@eatyourpeas, how about an organic soil tank with massive soil depth and excessive window light?

@Zenzo is an expert on this species.

@John Henry, try that for at least a few weeks, or even a month. I think you will see a difference. Let us know!- 360 replies

Algae loves blue light, continuous light, and window light. I invested in blackout curtains for one room.
