    My friend gave me adorable shrimp houses! I traded her some alder cones. They are made of unfinished ceramic and will “house” beneficial bacteria also.

    Anyone use/heard of Chemipure? It’s a carbon meant for planted tanks because it doesn’t strip the water of essential nutrients. This is the guy that told me about it.

    Lame I never saw this notification. Was just catching up on the journal and saw it. Yep, just throw a chunk in. It will float at first but will eventually sink. You probably already figured it out by now. My nerites like to snack on some cuttlebone from time to time. Rare I catch them doing it, but they do. I like the last photo of the sword position. The tank looks amazing! Is it algae on the arch? Because it is making the arch look even better.

    Are we sure that is not just fecal matter? It could just be the coloration from their food.

    Reporting back in. No real improvement on the tail or dorsal. Therefore we are back to Kanaplex. Kanaplex has worked well in the past for this issue. While Maracyn is "supposed to" treat fin rot, I did not see any results or benefits in this particular case. A stand came in yesterday for his 10g, but I will hold off on doing any upgrades until I see some improvement from him. Moving him around and planting things, scaping things, replacing water, moving the tank - all of that could stress him.

    Where is the fishy at? Did you change the gravel out? The first photo it looks white. Pretty sure the tank brand is Aquaculture. They have hoods like that with little bulbs that snap in.

    Grace 😍 Ever try Polyfil? Kaveman Aquatics says it keeps the water crystal clear; no floating stuff in the water column.
