  1. Bad news, I put a small slice of banana in the tank as something to graze on, and it turned out that was enough to tip the balance and cause an amonia spike. Castro is dead, and there is a major dent in the cyclops population.😟
  2. Will do, thanks @Scott P. Everyone seems very interested, but no one has bit the bullet yet (pun intended)
  3. I have a surplus of bananas and I was wondering if I could feed some to my community tank.
  4. I have forgot about the cyclops and planaria. The cyclops population does not seem to want to grow, but at least it's not shrinking. And I have not seen any planaria since I started this thread.
  5. It has been a while since I gave y'all an update so.The water lettuce has pretty much died but there is one leaf hanging on.Castro has not grown much, but here is my finger for scale.
  6. I just cleaned my internal filter and some of the mulm escaped while I was pulling it out of the tank. My guppies chased every little piece until it all had settled.
  7. I'm in metro Atlanta in Georgia, anyone know a good club in that area.
  8. What about geotextile fabric, Tanner at Serpa Design uses it all the time. I also think it would take a lot longer to be broken by roots, and even if roots do break through, it probably would still stay together for quite a while. I have never tried this though.
  9. The Georgia aquarium is pretty cool but the fresh water section is welming.
  10. That's the biggest demon I've ever seen. From my extensive research they feed exclusively on human flesh. Lol
  11. I feed a good amount every morning, and fast on the weekends.
  12. Was rewatching some old live streams and I found a new favorite. @Cory said "Murphy is poopin' out Chihuahuas!"
  13. That's so true. Mine just started to be brave after almost a year and come out while I am in the same room.😆
  14. This is so cool, I will for sure do this type of tank in my 3.5gal.
  15. I know it's nothing compared to some of you guys, but I have medium to severe anxiety. When I got my first tank last year, I saw a dramatic decrease in my anxiety level.
  16. Even if I had hundreds lying around, I'm not sure if any of those are small enough for what I want. When I said tiny I meant it. Small enough to fit under drift wood to check on my super shy cories.
  17. Buy more plants than you think you need, extra plants can be saved for a future setup or sold to an LFS or club.
  18. I want a tiny submarine with a camera that streams to my phone live.
