Did he stay that color pattern for his entire life or did marbling occur? his upper body that appears more orange/faded turned a deep red. other than that he looked like this for his entire life. unfortunately he was definitely bred for looks vs color and he came in sick with lots of internal issues. he passed after about 6 months of me trying to keep him healthy.
Irene
@yannachka Thanks for the warning! I've always wanted to try a fancy betta like that, but now I'll have a better idea of what I'm getting into. J Cor
Love seeing all of your bettas! Here’s one of ours. Kiddos named him Spidey (for Spider-Man). Recently lost him. He was very energetic and kept me very entertained. I have picked up a new betta and will post a pic soon.

J Cor
So here’s the new one. Kids convinced me on him for the his color, black and gold (for our team - LAFC). I believe he will be losing the black at some point and switching to blue. I’ve had him a few weeks now. He seems happy in his new 29g home. He was a little shy around his new friends at first but has definitely become very confident around them now.

Dancing Matt
Beta Ray Bill. It is hard to get a picture of him still, for every good one I have a dozen out of focus or blurry. Was looking for a blue betta but he was so active in the store and personable that I decided on him no contest.

H.K.Luterman
The Mighty Mister Mojo and his unfortunate head tumors. He's a good kid. The tumors don't slow him down; he's still frisky. Here's what he looked like when I first got him 2 years ago...

Didn’t know they could change like that! Mojo is colored up like my Rilian, on who I just noticed a growth of some kind on the flesh part of his tail. It looks like I have to do some research on tumors and growths on bettas. I put description and pictures up in “Diseases”.
