Ragnarok12
Alright everyone, open question. What is your favorite tank size and why? I'm really into nano tanks at the moment (5-10 gallons) because I like experimenting with everything you can do in such a small ecosystem. And because they are small, there is a guaranteed interaction between all of the denizens of the tank, which I also enjoy experimenting with. Who else has a favorite?
skadmiral
I love my medium tanks (20 to 55) They fit my fish and plants well. I really love my 48 bow front. Its fully planted with large rocks and drift wood. I use this as my "nano" tank. stocked with about 12 of each type of fish, rummy nose, octos, sterbie cory's, red and orange tetras, lemon tetras, pygmy cory's, amano shrimp. and I am forgetting a few. The activity with this tank is wonderful to watch. It right next to my couch. Really like by 55 with 2 pairs of koi angels (6 to 8 inches) Breeding weekly and some cory's. I just like this size tanks.

Scott P.
I like the 20 and the 29 gallon size. No big reason.
mountaintoppufferkeeper
40 breeder in glass you can do the vast majority of fish in a 40 breeder 20 longs 2nd choice same reasons 25 gallon in polycarbonate is the favorite rack tank size currently. Big enough for some projects and small enough to fit 6 on a smaller rack
sudofish
I like em all! If I had to pick one I'd probably go with the 40 breeder. It's a manageable size while still being big enough to house a wide variety of species.
Dwayne Brown
My favorites are the 5 gallon, and the 29 gallon.
H.K.Luterman
If I had a fish room I could see myself using mostly 40 breeders. I like the footprint.
laritheloud
The bigger the better. 🤣 I have a 55, 29, and 10.... and actually I find the 10 to be really easy going and I fret the least about it. The 55 is just getting started but I have dreams and hopes.
quikv6
40 Long. Can't beat the 4 foot length, and the easier maintenance short-ish height.
Betsy
I'm with @quikv6 - I like the longs because of how short (in height) they are...and how much change you can have with hardscape and foliage across the length of the tank. I only have a 20 long...so I have very limited experience...but I really enjoy tanks that are about 12" tall! GameCzar
My people are a nano-people. 10 and under because of room, and the desire to have several projects.
DebSills
My current favorites are 10 and 29...which happen to be the only tanks I have...so far...I can definitely see a 40/55/75 (or some combination) in the future 🙂
Taco Playz
I love nano tanks! 7 out of 8 of my tanks are between 3-10 gallons.

ChemBob
Really like my 40 breeder. I also have a 20 tall, a 5.5 gallon, and a 10 gallon QT tank. Haven't ventured larger, but I am debating a 75.
jhunholz
Our 75 is my favorite because of how amazing the Amazon swords look in it! So much space for them to grow.
Errk25
I have 29, 10, and 9 cube inside. 150 and 20 tubs outside. I like my 29’s but I wouldn’t want anything deeper. The two 29’s I have are well established and on point now. I think 40 breeder is a great size. 30 longs look cool too. Love my outside tubs. DannyBWell
Mine would be 10G if I had to choose. They're easy to dose almost everything from easy green, dechlorinator, to meds doses 10G a pump. You can do nano fish(which I love) in them and have enough plants so you get the best of both worlds in a size that is practical and easy enough to maintain for almost anyone.
