So adding the powerhead was great for Pygmy. Turning down the temp seems to have done something good. No longer AS afraid of my phone.  I THINK I caught mating behavior on video 😲

I found something new. I was toying with the idea of a slow flow plenum. A forum member recommended a video by Kevin Novak. One of the other videos he did said the Hanna high range nitrate checkers that I looked into awhile back do work for freshwater even though they say saltwater use only and the freshwater photometer is mega $$$$$. So I gave it a shot. All week I tested all 7 tanks with coop strips, api liquid and the Hanna nigh range nitrate. It was accurate each and every time. I don’t need this level of accuracy but twice a month I still check coop strips against api liquid to make certain the strip had not been moisture exposed etc.  pretty cool way easier and less chance of operator error than api liquid. I let my tanks go a bit longer to be sure it still would be accurate at higher levels and it was. This was the PITA part because my tap is 20-25 nitrate right now so just a quick 50% change does not correct it. So a series over a few days to correct but worth knowing.
Worst tank the photos skewed the colors a touch but it is accurate.1EB3526A-651F-411F-8774-22203337A505.jpeg.757f55070d965639f2610137d68b1467.jpeg221AE232-4855-4F07-B042-113EACB17FDB.jpeg.7ae0df7ea715704e82b6a45a339be8af.jpeg7DED359F-1513-4916-A2F8-5BBCE579CFAC.jpeg.e53b6ca32fd19ba672f01271c5882c96.jpeg

My oh so lovely tap water was accurate as well 🤢🤮🤮🤮5CE103E6-BAD9-4D2B-9743-F07EE813414F.jpeg.3a3fd08b4974c34eb6eab90c76a54c63.jpeg

This is why I call neocaridina TINY TERRORISTS  I went tank to tank putting in repashy sticks for my plecos and by the time I got back to look at the first tank minutes later and every other tank  this….🤣. Who needs Easy Greed when your tap water looks like that! 🤣. And I’m jealous of your new toy, it’s super cool.

Now you see why I’m so paranoi And won’t add fertz to tanks. My tap is liquid fert…coop could just bottle it and save a fortune making it 🤣🤣

They'd have to take the jet fuel, uranium, and calcium out of ours, lol.

(The actual city water doesn't have uranium, but drive 30 minutes in almost every direction, and you end up on a reservation with uranium😒)

Got my new phone. They gave me an iPhone 12. I think the video and picture quality is clearer. Was playing around to see how it looked. Posting it here to make sure my settings are righ and for general fun fish enjoyment 😁

Scrap scape

im going to keep a running total of how many bladder snail clutches I remove. I fed 4 times a TINY pinch (tooth pick tip tiny) of fry food since I started it either 2/7 or 2/6 have to look. I did not count on some of my hornwort dropping needles as food. I also did not count on my idiocy. I seeded the tank with different algae. A few days ago I only clicked the light once which shuts off the whit lights but turns the white ones blue. It was still light out so I didn’t see blue on all night long. Massive hair algae. All devoured now. I removed 14. Yes FOUTEEN egg sacs from glass and hornwort today. I left 1 on the glass and who knows how many are on the hard scape 😳. Boys and girls unlimited hair algae buffet is OVERFEEDING bladder snails 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I only put 6 little ones in to start. I’m usually much better at population control.

All your tanks looking great, the guppies with the electric blue tails are amazing! So sorry about your snail.😢 Glad to get caught up on your journal, I need to find the thread about cord management you was talking about. I did a couple things I could share that work well!

Everyone loved the powerheads so much I wanted my guppy grow outs to have them. They are a bit $ to buy 7 in one month so I tore apart old cat drinking fountains and used the adjustable pumps. Lefty had to investigate he hung out there quite a bit today. He continues to grow much slower than Angel  Angel is almost full size not quite as big as mom n dad but getting there  poor lefty is still 2-3 inches nose to tail tip.  I’m convinced the effort required from healing and basic stress of his sponge dumpster diving tragedy may have stunted his growth  E94E1412-B0EC-4089-A7E9-E19E498A6D8E.jpeg.f5d08ab7f4c5effdb6de8f027343eb41.jpeg3B554675-C8C8-43E4-A49A-89B078EE164C.jpeg.b88578962a3212827e0793c07cfd05ae.jpeg

this egg sac is developing well in the scrap scape. I think they are neat to watch develop (hidden behind a remaining hair algae 🤣)85E412A0-A315-47D5-923D-EB2642D0EE07.jpeg.76f0e261235efb7168c570ee3219ccb3.jpeg

So my cat water pump did not work. Just not strong enough.

So I ordered another coop powerhead. In an attempt to lessen my unmanageable cords so I can better utilize all the super wonderful info @Greg Stewart posted in his cable management thread and so that they fit in the JOYOUS looms ( @Torrey 🤣) to tame the cable octopus monster.  I ordered 2 of the new coop pumps. Several of my nano pumps are having issues (total operator error from twisting my ziss stones WAY to tight and using generic backflow stops 🙄). I’m mega excited but just put the order in). 🎉

Tulip has been systematically aphunting and consuming every panda egg so I pulled them to a fluval breeder)

I caught this this morning for the life of me I could not remember the word SPAWNING 🤣 my mind used to be like Fort Knox…now I tend to misplace the key 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I’ll add the video here so it’s together with my journal

HAPPY ADVENTURES…I’M TRYING SOMETHING NEW 😁

Oh I’m up to 36 total bladder snail egg sacs removed in my scrap for scape tank…not a drop of hair algae left 😁
