  1. Found my first lemon Pleco babies 2 days ago!.
  2. Exactly every time I get a new species of fish I'm on overload like oh it has to be perfect and do this and do that to get them to spawn. So nerve racking. I'm not trying to breed for profit and all that jazz. I just want to enjoy them and watch it happen naturally. If it does great if not I'm still enjoying them. Three happy so I'm happy. Same with the apistos. I set the tank up for them. Got some caves and plenty of plants and I just watch and admire. I'm sure it will happen sometimes when it's right. If not I still get to enjoy them.
  3. So I was in the middle of making dinner. Homemade crunch wraps with cilantro lime rice and ground turkey, when my oldest daughter yelled out to me. "Hey dad there is a really small fish in the 29 with a long tail. Of course my heart skipped a beat. The only fish in the 29 are the least killis, Corys, lemony and luna and the single girl apisto borelli. Could it be? Do we have pleco babies? Iran to the living room and sure enough there is a little squirt on the glass just grubbing on tank glass yummies. Then she noticed at least 2 more in other areas of the tank. I didn't think luna would be ready to breed for a couple more months. But I knew lemony has been getting a cave ready and staying in it on a regular basis. Not quite sure how many I have but at least 3. So I added some hikari first bites. With all of the plants wood and rocks I'm sure there is plenty of goodies to eat. But I will keep up with first bites to make sure they always have a good source. They are still very small. I would say between quarter to half inch. Vir at least a couple weeks old I'm sure. This is the kind of fish breeding I love. No stressing. No trying for the perfect environment. Just keep your fish fed and happy with a good tank and it's bound to happen.
  4. Guess I really never thought about it that much. As far as on here lol.
  5. Well speaking of repashy. Just made a batch a few minutes ago. I just quickly press it into a 1x1 cube silicone tray. Let it cool and put into a small airtight container in the fridge.
  6. You could chose to sleep inside of one of the 3 buildings if you wanted to. But they had a bunkhouse on side that we stayed in. Three is no electricity or running water in the sanatorium buildings. We would investigate until 5-6am. Then sleep til early afternoon and repeat.
  7. It happened once when I went to Indiana state sanitarium last summer for a 2 day investigation. The first two nights after I came back I woke up in the 3am hour feeling like something ore someone was laying behind me in bed. Not a fin feeling. I saged and kept telling it has to go back to where it came from. The next day the creepy vibes and feelings were gone. Some many people feel it's silly or not real. Just because you can't see it does not mean something isn't there. That's why I tell people not no mess around and provoke and do stupid things because you are never 💯 sure what you can be communicating with.
  8. Where do you get your shrinking power at I wanna go diving in my tanks too!!!
  9. Yes I only like to put straight uncut videos on there. It's mostly so my team mates can view what I have taken to see if they see anything in them I may miss. We are out for real evidence not like so many tv shows. It can get pretty scary sometimes but we don't do stupid things like provoke and such. We are there for the history and to get real evidence.
  10. Well I'll be the first to throw of a picture of my bad self 😁. I don't really have any not fishy or snail pets. But something most of you may not know about me is I am also a paranormal investigator. Didn't really feel like digging out my investigation gear but the hat I'm wearing if for a podcast of a local crew I like to listen to. It's called they cryptic paranormal show. You can see some of my videos I have taken and different locations and investigations I have been on. Places like Mansfield reformatory, bobby Mackey's music world, Hinsdale house and wildwood sanatorium to name a few. Trying to make a trip to Waverly hills sanatorium at the end of the month. Just look up Thomas Utt on YouTube if you would like to see some of what I do. All the videos I post are uncut raw footage. No trickery here.
  11. Yes I have a 207 on my 20 long tank. I have use it with and without the spray bar. I prefer the spray bar to ease of controlling the flow. I only run the filter at about 50 percent power for my cpds and aspidoras. If you do crank it all the way up you can get some serious movement though. I think im this case with a Betta in the tank I would use the spray bar and keep the flow aimed down the back wall of the tank. I think that would give you the easiest flow. But it still could be strong for a long fim Betta. Imo I would go with a sponge filter and hob with a baffle to help keep the flow easy but still get good surface agitation and the sponge filter will give the extra oxygenation.
  12. I have used crushed coral both ways. In my hob and mixed in with gravel. I find mixing with gravel is easier and one less thing to worry about in my hob. Especially since I just like to run all sponges in my filters. The only downside to mixing it with the substrate is it takes longer to dissolve to get a better kh buffer going. But I'm the long run way less to worry about. I have 0 kh out of my tap water so all my tanks have it since they all have snails and or shrimp in them. I just test the kh every few weeks to make sure it stays up. Over time as it dissolves your kh will lower and you will need to add more. About 1 pound per 10 gallons keeps me at a kh of 4-6
  13. Oh my friend I'm glad you found the post. I'm so bad with remembering screen names lol.
  14. Yes I can't remember who it was but a member on here made a stand for it that works great. I had to make one myself. It will cost about 20 in materials but it gets it high enough to work the nozzle at the bottom. And like @Guppysnail said I put a piece of vinyl tubing in the end for easy harvesting. It has a section in the bottom of the stand to hold your net or seive. It's not a a must and you can save a few bucks by not putting it on your stand. Just keep all 4 legs the same length for a straight stand. I hope however made the stant originally sees this thread. I'm horrible with remembering. I usually like to make a fairly large batch. When they are ready I feed live that day then freeze the rest fresh. Works best for me with the way I work.
  15. I have yet to cull a single shrimp out of the shrimp sanctuary. I get varying degrees of brightness of red as well as getting some that look relli or red jelly. I'm not going for any certain line in color as long as they are healthy and happy I'm good with that. I'll probably be taking a few bags of them to my next fish club auction.
  16. Yes I am for team mopani. Nice and dense. Usually will sink immediately as well. I like the color variations in it too. Cholla is my next choice but mainly because I keep a lot of shrimp and they like it. Ok downfall with cholla is it breaks down and rots faster than most.
  17. You know I forgot I have my second girl apisto borelli that was the my pair in there 10 gal love nest I could always move her over there. I think she kinda likes being in the 29 though lol. The rams are awesome fish I have always admired them. And I do love the honey gourami as well. Guess I didn't realize how many choices I could possible have.
  18. Oh wow that is a beautiful fish
  19. I like the idea of it being around the 2" mark to visually stand out from the rest of the nano fish in the tank. I'm not in a rush to get it persay just trying to find the right for me. They all look great it will be a tough decision. Yes I feel the flow would be a bit to strong in this situation. I keep a fluval 207 with a spray bar on this tank. Yes it's toned down to about 40-50 percent but still pretty strong for a Betta with long flowing fins.
  20. You know I should have mentioned what temp I keep this tank set at. It's only 75 so I don't think the ram would approve of the temp Those a fish that live approx a year correct?
  21. This may not be able to be done. but I would love to find a single fish that would work well as I centerpiece fish in my 20 long Housing currently is cpds, aspidoras blue jelly shrimp and one small hillstream loach. Tank temp is 75
  22. Ok so I was mistaken on the mods I do for the penguin pro 125. That description I gave before is what I did ok my new aquatop Forza 30s. What I did for the penguin is add a co op medium pre filter sponge. Removed the cartridges and put in 2 medium sponge pads into the cartridge spots. I use a piece of craft mesh in the front cartridge slot to keep the sponges away from the bio wheel. I do have one of the penguin specific sponges that can either be added to the intake or put inside the filter on the right side by removing the come shaped filter media basket. I like the sponge well enough but it's a bit bulky inside of the tank and when you put it on the inside it tends to spot a bit of water out from around the top of it. But you can add something like bio rings or balls into the basket for extra media. I think I might cut one solid piece of green sponge that is thicker and replace it instead of the 2 black sponges. The green will make a tighter fit and stop some of the flow around the other style sponges since they are a bit of a loose fit.
  23. I bought the pre filter designed for it but didn't like how it works so I put a co op pre filter sponge on it and took the cartridges out and put in a piece of my own green medium sponge. If fills the compartment completely up
