  1. So what your saying is if I ever want to try and really breed my paleys I can put this on the inside of the tank.
  2. Morning fellow nerms. How about a little coffee with TeeJay shall we .I hope everyone has a good thanksgiving and are waking out of your turkey comas. Not much to report on today but I do have have a new surprise coming very soon. In about a week or so maybe less. I will have a new trio of wet friends for the 29 gal tank. Names have already been picked out. So it won't be long until Lucy, Ethel, and Ricky will make there big debut. But what they are I cannot tell you that. Some things have to stay a surprise. Well time for work so as always keep it fishy my friends
  3. Yeah honestly they are my first choice but last choice considering the tank size. I really like the black phantom tetras. They stay a bit smaller. But I still have plenty of other small fish choices. Nothing happening to soon unless I get the itch 😆
  4. Oh I just might have to look into those 6 of them with shrimp and snails.....new 10 gal setup woot woot
  5. Yes you have waaaaayyyy to much to try and update in one day. Heck even a week. 😆
  6. Well I figured the man 3 @Guppysnail @nabokovfan87 and @Chick-In-Of-TheSea have a good idea but everyone else probably has no clue as to what has been going on lol. Now don't expect another update like that until after Christmas 🤗
  7. Ok we are down to the grand finale for the day!. Last tank is the 29 gallon. This is the home to Lemony and Luna. My pair of lemon bristlenose plecos. As well as my crew of paley Cory cats. Rounding out the fish category is least killifish. There friends are mixed neo shrimp and a pair of nerite snails. I just put in lemonys new xxl pleco cave. He was ready for an upgrade since is about 3/4 grown and I don't want him to break one of his long fins trying to turn around in the old triangle style cave. This one is extra spacious for romantic time On this setup I'm running a pair of penguin pro 125s along with 2 med coop sponge filters. For heat I have a hygger titanium with exterior thermostat. And I just now realized I forgot to mention lighting for all tanks. They are all running various sizes of hygger 24/7 lights. One day I hope to upgrade them to the coop lights. Substrate is small gravel. Plenty of mopani for the plecos. Along with an Amazon sword and all of the floating guppy grass and hornwort you can handle. With a couple of crypts and anubias sprinkled in. Well that should about cover tank catch up day. We are current and up to date with all of my fishy adventures. It's been a long day. Time to feed the fish and find some good paranormal shows to watch for the 50th time. As always keep it fishy my friends.
  8. What you have to remember about crushed coral is as it dissolves you will need to keep adding for as needed to keep your kh to the level you desire. I keep it mixed into my substrate as well as in media bags in my hob filters. Depending on how your water is coming out of the tap will dictate how was it will dissolve and need to be replenished.
  9. Ok last tank until this afternoon. This is a 5 gallon shrimp and snails tank. Home to a mixed group of neo shrimp and piano snails. Most are baby and juvenile snails from my piano snail colonys in other tanks. I also use it as a qt tank when getting new fish or getting fish ready to sell/regime. It has a aquatop Forza filter along with a coop nano sponge filter. Sand substrate like in the danio/pygmy tank. Mopani wood with dragonstone. Anubias and floating hornwort and guppy grass round out the tank
  10. Oh I don't know lol. I would still like some chili rasboras or maybe some small tetras or a group of phantom tetras. Maybe a 6 pack of cherry barbs.
  11. Ok round 4 are you ready for this or what?! Next up is the 10 gallon shrimp sanctuary tank. Only thing in here is red cherry shrimp. Along with one ninja (assassin's) snail. Have never had a ramshorn issue in this tank like the rest. I forgot to mention there are also assassin's in all the other tanks so far. Just like the rest it has driftwood and dragonstone for all the books and crannies shrimp like to hang out in. Kind of hard to see the stone behind the gaggle of java moss hornwort and guppy grass. Filtration is another aquatop Forza filter with 3 coop nano sponge filters. 2 are double stacked. Gravel as substrate and shrimp domes. Java fern have taken over the middle wood of the tank not that you can see it.
  12. There coming in fast now whooo! Up next is the 10 gallon guppy tank. As you guessed it this is the home to my blue galaxy guppys. I think I'm down to just males now. I have rehomed all of the females I have for sure now. I have a couple of fry that I have to wait another week or two before I know for sure what they are. This will eventually be a new adventure tank. Along with there friends the piano snails. Filter is an aquatop Forza along with a double stacked coop nano sponge filters. Noticing a trend yet? All my tanks I run dual filtration on. Mainly for power outages when they happen. All tanks run on battery backup air pumps. So at least I know I will always have surface agitation and air if I do loose power. Plants are anubias, java fern along with guppy grass and hornwort. Enjoy!
  13. Are you ready for that second cup yet..Up next is a 10 gallon setup for the dwarf emerald danios and the pygmy corys. There friends in this tank are a crew of piano snails and mixed neo shrimp. I will have at least 3 of the pygmys out of the original six for sure. But I haven't found any body's so I'm optimistic that I still have 5. Equipment in this tank is a tidal 55. Yes I said 55 lol. It has a custom baffel to make a gentle flow. Along with a small coop sponge filter. Plants include anubias crypts a ton of java moss and floating guppy grass and hornwort. Heater is a titanium hygger with a controller.
  14. Ok for the morning edition of coffee with TeeJay is the 20 long tank. This is the home to my colony of 11 cpds and 7 aspidos spilliotis aka wiggle butts. As well as the home to the wizard small family and the blue jelly neo shrimp. Rounding out this tank is moonbeam one of the plecos from lemony and lunas first fry and mochi the hillstream loach. Equipment on this tank is a fluval 207 with spraybar, med coop sponge filter and a coop heater. Mopani wood slate rock caves for hardscape and midnight pearl gravel for substrate. Plants include crypts anubias java moss and floating guppy grass and hornwort.
  15. Well it's water change day. I think today I'll try and get a new pic of each tank and give a list of all different fish and friends in each tank. We shall see how it goes 😆
  16. I have the same issue crazy hard gh with zero kh out of the tap. So I use cc or rather arragonite. It just dissolves a bit slower. Most use 1lbs per 10 gallons of water mixed in the substrate. I do that but also keep a media bag of it as well iny hang on back filters as well. This will usually keep me at a steady 5-6kh. Yes it does take quite some time to get it to that level. I would say a good 3-4 months before I started seeing steady consistent results. Then once I get it to where I want it I'll check the kh about once every 2 weeks or so. At these levels I have no issues with my snails shells. Hope this helps. It's really just playing around with it until you get the right mix that works for you.
  17. It's what I do baybeee! What I'm best at. That and shenanigans!
  18. So I have a new larger caves coming today for lemony and luna. They should have plenty of room to spawn in for the next time around. I thought he might have already had eggs in the cave a couple of days ago but he has left the cave alone for a day now. Maybe he did have eggs but they were not fertile. As well I caught a great deal on Amazon this morning and picked up another penguin pro 125 for the 29 as well. It already has one on it with an original penguin 150. I just hate this design. So I will be happy to run dual pro 125s on it as well as keeping the 2 med coop sponge filters as well. It will be here tomorrow so it will be a fun day off adding the new filter and changing out to the new larger cave.
  19. I'm looking for a better shrimp ner myself. One like you said that holds it's shape better in the water while moving. Any brand suggestions?
  20. If shipping wasn't a million dollars I would send you one or some from my next batch.
  21. Oh yes you know me all of my tanks are like a jungle with the guppy grass and hornwort
  22. Oh yes quite the poop machines they are. I know having 2 in a 29 gallon is already pushing it. That's why all of my tanks have 2 types of filtration on them. I either run hobs with sponge filters or canisters with sponge filters. That way as my bioload increases I have extra room in my media to build up to the amount of bb that I will need. I know once lemony and luna get a bit older I'll need to move the Cory crew out and just let the 29 be them and the least killis. I'm ok with that since the killis have a very small bioload. This tax season I want to get the 29 off the stand it's on now to an actual tank stand and add a canister to it as well. Most likely another fluval. I run the 207 on the 20 long so I think I'll go with the 307 on the 29. And keep the penguin pro 125 and the two med sponge filters going as well.
  23. I have the ones I want picked out already. Just waiting for the pay to hit the bank account tonight and going to get them ordered.i just got a metric ton of java moss so I figured I'll cover them to blend in better and more areas for babies of all types to hide and snack on yummies.
