I read something about this once. I don't remember what though, whether it was the amount of current in the tank or plant cover or what. LOL (I know. Not helpful) Update: oh here it is. It says the washed out ones are juveniles. Or when they are introduced to a new tank they get washed out looking. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/aquarium/chili-rasbora Don't give up! Next time will be better 🙂 ❤️ -

Mystery snail eggs & inverts journal
Chick-In-Of-TheSea replied to Chick-In-Of-TheSea's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
I was in big lots buying soil so I could make this ghetto chili pepper pot… … and I found this guy. He was cheap but on top of that 40% off because they are having a summer sale. So he was like $6.50 and I couldn’t pass him up. He goes good in front of the ghetto flower pot stand. I got one for my friend also. Today is her birthday, and she had adopted 2 snails from me last year.- 1,895 replies

The pest guy didn’t do anything except spend money on gas to get out here and say, I don’t see what the problem is. Um, ok? Thanks, I guess?- 1,525 replies

I am not aware of meds interfering with liquid test kits or strips. Aquarists on the forum here putting fish through quarantine or treating illnesses tend to test parameters more often. This is because some medications can kill beneficial bacteria on filters and cause an ammonia spike. Salt also slows beneficial bacteria if introduced with a large dose in a short period of time. @modified lung do you have any data on this bychance?

I can vouch for the pantyhose. Pantyhose is tank-safe; I've used it myself many-a times. I make media bags with it, generally when it's the rare occasions I use carbon. I usually do that to help remove meds after a quarantine, in addition to water changes. Recently I switched to the ACO bags, just because they are reusable (have a drawstring). With pantyhose I can never get the knot out to get media out, so I have to discard the pouch. But that is irrelevant for your purposes @MattyM, since you will not have a need to open the bags. -
No, 25 is ok. If it gets above 40 then you'll need to water change. https://apifishcare.com/pdfs/products-us/nitrate-test-kit/api-nitrate-test-kit-instruction-manual.pdf

What is your Toyota Camry of Fish Foods?
Chick-In-Of-TheSea replied to _Eric_'s topic in General Discussion
I like Repashy for how versatile it is. I can Make cubes with it to feed fish, or just mix it in a container and spoon some out when I want to feed. Add things to it such as calcium for snails Make shrimp lollies with it Feed the powder to shrimplets, nerite snails, or microfauna Put it into cute molds Coat objects with it for fish to graze from -

Serpa design does it in paludariums to add height and the mesh allows the roots to take hold of it. -

2 juvenile shrimps confirmed in Geppetto’s tank. They are enjoying the hornwort that was recently added. Does he really not notice? Or does he just not care? Pest control is coming to treat inside the home today. I cannot be home but asked my husband to instruct them to use bait instead of spray. All the tanks are covered with towels just in case, but I didn’t have time to stow away all the nets, siphons, etc because I was running late.- 1,525 replies
