  1. Thanks. The calculator was coming up with 1.75 Tablespoons which sounds like a lot. (29 gal tank) A tiny spoon came with the Kanaplex. I wonder what the measurement is on that little spoon. Hmm… My husband already told me NO more fish tanks! But my Aqueon forge stand has a spot on the bottom of it for a 5.5 gallon which I want to setup as a quarantine space. (Shh don’t tell.. I don’t think he will notice because it’s lower to the floor and there’s a table in the way. LOL!) The tote has been serving me for quarantine thus far but I have to net fish every time I want to examine their symptoms.
  2. Thank you so much for sharing! Very beautiful. @Guppysnail @Guppy Guy @TeeJay
  3. Co Op sells the 25w, I think I will just snag that one.
  4. Lol!!! Well anyway, it makes your journal all the more fun to read. A giggle never hurts once in awhile!
  5. There’s another typo in here, but who’s counting? I never said anything because I think it’s funny. 🤣
  6. Well folks, another snail adoption occurred today. Very close to home, about 2 miles. Another hobbyist with a 20 gallon and a 55 gallon has adopted 10. He requested delivery, which I did offer in my Nextdoor listing, given that it was close enough to my home. This is fine with me. It gave me an opportunity to do secret shell checks for limpets and remove them. Yep, that’s still a thing. Anyway… Here’s the tank before the adoption. I just wanted to take a photo of all the brothers and sisters before splitting them up. The snail dad is going to place 3 in one tank and 7 in the other, so that is how I bagged them. I gave a care sheet, 2 chunks cuttlebone so he can put a chunk in each tank, and some crab cuisine. It was $1 per snail, so in truest NERM fashion, I used proceeds to buy some Taco Bell for lunch! I don’t know why but I always get so nervous and my hands shake when removing snails for adoption. I think it’s clear I am overprotective of the little guys, although they probably think an earthquake is occurring when they get handled! 🙃 After I returned home, everyone else got a cabbage leaf. Dodger is having a nap right now so will have leftovers later. Also some more snails came to the back door. Two today. This is a daily thing, only since the decision to hatch eggs happened.
  7. The weird thing is, there were no eggs, no fish, no inverts or anything in the tank when this guy was found. All I had added was plants, so I am certain he was a plant hitchhiker (even survived a 15-20 sec salt dip, poor fella). But I’m glad he did. He’s a part of the snail family now since everyone has been added to this growout tank. I like to offer crab cuisine as well, since it contains calcium. It doesn’t last long! They love it!
  8. I’m interested to see what happens with the green pepper and if the shrimp and snails like it. I haven’t tried that with my snails yet, but they do like boiled red cabbage. Oh also you might have a bit of a typo in your post. See if you can find it. 🤣
  9. Did you breed these guys @nabokovfan87? P.S. Cool soundtracks!
  10. Annnnd for some reason I’m over on YouTube watching vids on how to setup a fiddler crab tank. 🤣 But let’s be real. I do not have the space for said fiddler crab tank.
  11. Wow! A nice growth spurt already. How are you liking the net breeder? Does it seem to work well for them? I don’t believe any would be able to escape from a net breeder whereas mine were able to escape through the slats of the plastic breeder box.
