I love the world of the small, it's such a complex and beautiful part of nature happening all around us that we usually never see. So share your macro shots!

Here are some of my first attempts at macro/fish photography with my bridge camera, a Panasonic Lumix FZ200.

Pics a little noisy and exposure wasn't the best, but here they is! (I touched these up a bit using Mac's built in Preview app).

Nerite snails work very hard. I can't find them right now, but the evidence is clear. I have a good size piece of wood  that was covered in biofilm. And I think I got 2 males (also got a male before, for my shrimp tank) - lucky me, no eggs!

Happy New Year, everybody!

Just a few shots I took today - I definitely need some practice, and I need to figure out my on-camera lighting. It wasn't wanting to turn on, so lots of these shots had the ISO cranked up in order to get a decently bright picture.

A Hermit Crab from my Pest Pico:

A couple of Cherry Shrimp from my breeding tank:

And an Electric Blue Acara and Gold Nugget Pleco in my QT:

Oh wow .... I'm so brand new... But I have some fabulous photos of Ghost Shrimp babies in various stages... And some hydra!

I will most definitely find them and be back! What a fun topic!

I wish I had realized that hydra were beneficial, and that hydra with a symbiotic relationship that turns them green were rare.

Sadly, at the time I had the hydra, I still thought snails were pests🤦‍♂️

Oh so handsome!

I was doing maintenance on my grow out/ bachelor tank today, and discovered that my *single* assassin snail is not a bachelor!

I'm guessing I got her right after she mated, because I found this today... hunting snails on my plastic canvas 'plant float'

Meet Cream and Sugar, two full-white half-moon males (possibly brothers)

Cream is a bit camera-shy but very curious about guppies in the tank right next to his:

Sugar is more vivacious and aggressive (or maybe he is feeling safer/territorial due to his tank overgrown with green spot algae).
