  1. I’d do a 60% or more. And then necessary water changes to keep it between 1 to 2ppm.
  2. Plant the crap out off it but you need to do a huge water change and get that ammonia down below 2ppm.
  3. Not all sellers do this, but here’s what I mean about opening up the rhizome. https://youtu.be/GvurQ4Kja6E?si=gxqfMCRV6c1hNIgt
  4. As long as the rhizome is open and the roots a free to breath, should be good to go. Just use a liquid all in one fertilizer.
  5. Root tabs with that substrate will just go straight to the water column. I would advise caution.
  6. The crushed coral is raising GH. Remove it. If you want to raise KH, use K2CO3. That said, there’s no reason to raise it unless you have certain fish that need a higher pH. The pH of this tank was as low as 4.9
  7. I would just tuck them into a rock or wedge them in-between something,
  8. I see better results with higher turnover/ flow. My plants sway a good amount in my tank. 11 times turnover.
  9. Ph, has no affect on CO2. Some plants do better in lower pH for other reasons.
  10. Getting a bit more mass now. 4 new plants in and 1 last to come then more elimination.
  11. lol, it's a great tank. Well done!
  12. Post it, it's not a competition. I post only to inspire and try to get more people into true Dutch aquariums.
  13. From left to right Pogostemon Stellatus Cobamba Furcata Samolus parviflorus Ludwigia Natans sp. red
  14. Thank you, it was better before this. It's a scape in progress.
  15. It will help all the plants. There’s some amazing journals recently with a few guys using low temperature to grow CO2 required plants without CO2. Amazing stuff really, drop to 74 and see what happens. I dropped my tank to 74 recently. Wish I could go lower and may just see what happens if I go to 72. Cautiously though!
  16. If the fish can take it, drop temperature to 70 or 68.
  17. Venturing into more challenging, “intermediate” plants.
  18. Try lowering temperature and see what happens!
  19. Swords are just hogs for nutrients, they don’t care where it comes from. People mistake large root systems for root/ heavy root feeders. The larger root systems are for anchoring mostly. Usually from seasonal flood areas or faster than normal flowing rivers and such. Here’s a good little blog post https://www.2hraquarist.com/blogs/fertilize-planted-tank/root-or-water-dosing?_pos=2&_psq=root feeder&_ss=e&_v=1.0
  20. Untrue. Just ongoing old wives tales that are continually passed on unfortunately.
