  1. Yeah, I think so. I wouldn’t do anything but keep up with water changes and fertilizing. It should pass eventually.
  2. It’s hard to see. Looks like diatoms but could be mulm. Does it wipe off easy?
  3. Keep in mind EG is EDTA chelated. You will loose a good chunk of iron at that pH.
  4. Nutrients do not cause algae. If your nitrates are zero per your above testing, then the cause of the problem is not having enough. This weakens the plants, the plants begin dying, releasing organics and algae takes advantage of the imbalance. What is the average pH of the tank?
  5. Looks like someone is eating the weaker leaves due to deterioration. 1 pump is nowhere near enough. I’d do 18 pumps a week followed by 50% water changes. So 18 pumps over 6 days, 7th day water change and repeat.
  6. Saw the news this morning and wondered if you were struggling. Good thing you were prepared!
  7. BPS is irrelevant, that said 8bps for a 150 gallon seems extremely low. How are you diffusing CO2? FYI, anything over 75 gallons is going to need a reactor. Hopefully you are using one. For balancing, first thing I would do is triple check you are getting a solid 1 to 1.5 pH drop from degassed to peak CO2.
  8. So you dose 2ppm three times a week. So that’s an accumulation total of 12ppm.
  9. How often do you water change and how much
  10. No, I’d go 5 if higher light. I’m at 10ppm in my own tank.
  11. Drop it down to 2 or 3ppm. If you see GSA, raise it 1ppm until the GSA goes away.
  12. I would buy MgSO4 (Epson salt) CaSO4 and K2CO3. All are inexpensive and will last a year or more. Ca and Mg for GH and the K2CO3 for KH if you want to add it. I personally don’t add KH to my RO water but some African species of fish will need it.
  13. Again, pH swing does not harm fish. This is a wives tale. If GH and KH are stable (0dKH is stable), and the fish are in the appropriate/stable parameters, then pH is irrelevant. This wives tale is continually passed on by those who only read and regurgitate old and outdate knowledge. Let me know if you see dying or stressed fish here.
  14. It doesn’t and pH swing doesn’t harm fish. Here’s my daily pH. Heres my tank as well.
  15. I’d go with a ratio that brings GH down to 4 or 5 degrees, ignore KH.
  16. If this was me, I would be concerned I didn’t have enough plants and would quadruple the plant load in the tank. Hopefully the EG arrives soon and start dosing at half the recommended until the plants start growing.
  17. If this was me, I’d do another water change. I would also do 50% changes daily until no ammonia or nitrite are present.
  18. You want a DTPA Iron and I would dose .35 to .45ppm Fe
  19. What’s the average pH of the tank?
  20. If it’s glued, just work it like removing a sticker.
  21. They tie them together. Will need to cut and open the root ball.
  22. I like black substrate and black backgrounds. Using a Moss wall can add dept and make certain color really shine. My tank is in transition so you can get a feel for both. I have a black substrate, a moss wall on the right and a Trip wall started on the back with areas of black showing still. Hope this can help you decide.
  23. I had to replace one Bluetooth chip and noticed what you say, found out a few days ago there’s a v3 chip. He sent me v2 chips when I bought them. I use my own settings.
