  1. nitrates arent out of control, if the plants are looking healthy, stay the course.
  2. what do the plants look like, and have you done any water testing? you could be doing too much, too little, or just right.
  3. i dont know about heat, but a few bristlenose pleco's would be good for bottom feeders. they stay 5-6" max.
  4. if its not getting soft, give it more time. sometimes bulbs are duds though.
  5. do what ever tickles your fancy with it.
  6. agree, they could probably use some educating, to help make sure this isnt a never ending thing.
  7. the other fish must find blue and gold extra tasty. a few weeks to put on some size should greatly increase the survival rate.
  8. the bead of silicone that is smushed out on the inside is part of the tanks integrity. if its on the outside, and smushed out 3/4" of an inch, then a careful trim is okay. the inside corners of the glass, and between the glass are most important, best not to mess with those areas.
  9. i agree with the others, its not dead, but its not real happy either.
  10. 98% chance they are nerite eggs.
  11. i doubt they'll go for it, have asked for 100 packs, but you never know.
  12. i have 2 hyggers, and 1 nicrew. i have a slight preference for the hygger.
  13. cardinals, and rummy nose are always good choices, if planted, ember tetra's really look good too.
  14. if it is a good fit for you, culls are a good food source.
  15. big old delta tail guppy would make a better wind vane.
  16. i just fly by the seat of my pants, and do whats needed when i see it needs it.
  17. most important is that the ends are supported, and level with each other(not twisted).
  18. as a old salty sailor, i can help you out with the cussing if you run out of good words. 1 small, and 1 larger net. chase the fish with the small net into the larger net. might take some trying, but it can be done.
