  1. is it your first tank? being new, its likely to be cloudy for a day or three. that is entirely normal regarding particulates in the water, a HOB with a fine filter floss or similar can help to remove that. id give it a few days, and a couple water changes down the road determine if you need something additional.
  2. ill second that, good prepress folks can save lots of heartaches on the press. sadly in most shops lots of mistakes make it to the press.
  3. roots in the substrate is okay, just try and keep the rhizome out.
  4. you can certainly space out the dosing.
  5. ideally, clean is great, but it does not need to be surgically clean.
  6. i see a lot of duct work in that space, can you add in a heat register?
  7. being mostly clear, they are masters at hiding.
  8. it has been decades, but i dont think you are missing anything. they havent changed at all.

  10. done a few things, but the bulk of the years was running printing presses.
  11. bristlenose pleco's like to eat swords if they arent getting enough food.
  12. live plants are a great thing to have in a tank. they do so many good things for it. plant early, plant often. if going with plants, plants are first, then fish in a new aquarium.
  13. assuming you are going to line this wooden thing with plastic , or rubber, id think you would want some stakes along the outside down the length of the boards to keep it from bowing outwards.
  14. thats a java fern, and those things on the leaf are baby plants. let them get a bit bigger then they can be picked off and planted elsewhere. in the future, dont bury the rhizome on java ferns. you can stick the roots in the gravel, or glue them to some of the hardscape.
