  1. i sailed along side the ogden in 1990.
  2. lst's all went away about 1993. the old flat bottom made for a wild ride when the sea's were rough
  3. whats the tap water test at? what kind of substrate, plants etc?
  4. this is an uber for crayon eaters!🤪 this is how you make them turn green and lose their lunch! note, also works on reservists!🤢
  5. ya know, i spent a few years on an LST!😜
  6. usually in my community tank, a small percentage of fry survive. im sure its due to them hiding a little better, or being slightly quicker than the rest. works well for me as it keeps the tank from being over run with fish.
  7. yeah, who knows? it just caught my eye.
  8. anyone else notice the tree? LOL
  9. only way to slow them down is to remove anything than can resemble a cave that they can hide in and do the nasty.
  10. its my understanding most guys that used them loved them.
  11. i love that stoner! thats the MG on the right for those who dont know.
  12. most of the all in 1 tank kits are ok, but you will more than likely be happier buying the exact components you want. as for cycling, pick a direction. there are people that will go ape nuts if you dont cycle your tank the way they do. in the end, they all work. some faster than others, and some with more stress on you, but it is a personal decision as they will all get you to the same place. as for adding fish, it is a good idea to spread out the addition of new fish, this allows your bacteria in the tank ( this is what the "cycle" is all about) to adjust gradually to the new bio load vs just making a huge adjustment if you dump a pile of fish in at once. good luck, and dont hesitate to ask questions as the need arises. tons of knowledge available here, and there is no one right way to do things.
  13. ive caught them in various things, but mostly nets. for me i just take the fish in the net, submerge it into where they are moving, and gently shake it a bit. they usually come out without too much trouble.
  14. a handful or two in each tank will be fine. no real need to measure it out. the crushed coral will slowly dissolve based on your water. the closer it gets to hard water, the slower it dissolves, so you cant really over do it.
  15. the bent spine in guppy's seems to come from lacking calcium and other mineral sin the water. i used to get a few of them with every drop, but since ive added a small amount of crushed coral to my tanks i dont get them any more.
  16. with whitetail, and im sure mulies it depends a lot on what they eat. these guys were corn fed farm country bucks, so not too bad.
  17. found another one. this one was taken about 25yds from where the one with the bow, but a few years earlier.
  18. i grow lots of plants in nothing but gravel. if you were to look underneath my 120, the whole bottom pane of glass is root covered, so gravel doesnt deter roots.
  19. welcome to the forum. this is an excellent place to gather information from.
  20. agree, all you ever hear played on radio is hotel california. its gotten to where i cant stand to hear it.
