  1. just like people, fish can tolerate something of a temperature swing. based on the temperature you keep your tank at i would surmise the fish you keep can handle getting deep into the 60's.
  2. bn pleco's tend to only eat the plants themselves if they arent getting enough food.
  3. in the old days, they used to put rice in with salt in the shakers out in places like cabins that werent used all the time. , that or you could stick a dessicant package in the salt.
  4. its hard to learn if you dont make mistakes now and then.
  5. ive done both recurve and compound over the years, and either way is a challenge. as a bonus though generally much nicer weather to be outdoors during bow season. last one i smoked before i had to quit was with a bow.
  6. if height is the major concern, a 29, 40breeder, or 55 might fill the bill. none are overly tall.
  7. so you were angry with the cows instead? 🤣 the mad comment has much truth to it, for lots of years i never cared if i killed anything or not, it was just about being out there. until 1 day some retarded buck decided to run into my car. that buck cost a whole bunch of deer their lives!!👹
  8. to kill off that many fry in such a short time period, my first thought is water quality. have you tested the water, particularily for ammonia?
  9. when i had both at the same time, i never saw any negative interaction between them.
  10. the rag company's platinum pluffle is the only one i use on the paint. im not really drying with it though as my car is ceramic coated, so i leaf blow most of the water off then use the platinum pluffle with a ceramic detail spray for final dry. i use their dry me a river as my glass towel. i have quite a few others, but those 2 are my most used.
  11. the rag company is my go to for good ones. most of their stuff is really nice. the cheap ones you get at ally world or elsewhere dont touch my paint, but have their uses where they might get grungy and i dont feel bad tossing those.
  12. car is cleaner than the tanks. yup, it is pretty much plastic fibers. some of it is very prone to static, but on the other hand some is so soft and plush you'd think cotton was sandpaper.
  13. thats why i prefer prairie dog "hunting", lots of action to keep my attention. deer hunting is lots of naps mixed with squirrels running through the woods sounding like deer.😎
  14. have you done any water testing? added any fertilizer? java ferns are generally pretty hard to kill, but if there is not enough nutrients in the tank, they will die off.
  15. microfiber is its own fun. for that use any of the "free" non allergenic soaps, and absolutely no fabric softener, and warm water or cold, not hot, and low heat dryer setting. microfiber will melt at 140 degrees. im a car detailing nerd, so i have micro fiber towel treatments down to a science.
  16. detergent doesnt seem to matter much, but i dont use any fabric softener with them.
  17. well, hunting is really about taking naps in the fresh air anyways!
  18. mine do nothing but hide, so i vote other!
  19. a seasoned tank can support fry, but the best thing with a mature tank and fry is the tank, and its biofilm can really help to supplement the feeding of fry. with a good biofilm you dont have to worry about feeding 4,5, or more times a day. fry will likely survive on just the biofilm, but they probably wont thrive.
  20. yup, bristlenose arent too picky about hiding. now a clown pleco wants to hide in or under wood. all the plecos ive had never seemed to have a huge preference for type of wood. mopani, malaysian, or plain old hardwood driftwood, they nibble on it all. spider wood, and cholla wood seem to not get a lot of attention from them though.
  21. sounds like the seeded sponges provided the needed bacteria colony.
  22. i havent hunted in quite a few years, but have caused many critters not to see their next birthday.
