  1. Opened my Christmas present-stuff I ordered from the Co-op, including: vibra bites, bug bites, easy fry food, nano pellets, brine shrimp eggs, spirulina, nano air pump, root tabs, and Easy Green Fertilizer. added three pumps of Easy Green to my 30g and one to my 10g. Added four root tabs to each of my two swords in the 30g. I also started brine shrimp in a diy Hatcher.
  2. @Daniel Thanks for answering this question because I am going to get a gladiator rack for two 75g tanks and I was wondering this exact question.
  3. This is great. Thanks for this. The one question I have left, which you can't answer because you haven't gotten the rack yet, but perhaps others on the forum can answer, is how much space is in between each shelf. I would hate to buy this rack and then my 75g tanks not fit.
  4. Hey everyone, I have a question about shelving. I am setting up two 75 gallon tanks. I was going to go with the cinder block and 2x4 method till I saw the Gladiator steel storage shelves. I am really tempted to get one of the gladiator units, but I wanted to know if anyone has experience with them, including any issues with weight support. Also how much space is in between each shelf as the tanks are 18.5 inches tall.
  5. What is the brand name of the rack? It looks great. I might want to get one for my fish room.
  6. Marnol, Can you go into detail how you dip plants into excel to deal with BBA? Do you remove the plant from your main tank, dip, and then return?
  7. Dude...both these tanks look really good. I particularly like the bottom one.
  8. Paul, thanks for sharing. Do you have any pictures? I would love to see what your setup looks like.
  9. Adam, This is excellent. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I am going to use the two 75g tanks as part of my swordtail breeding operation. I am going to put some java ferns in them so I'm think about going with the Stingrays versus the Fluval 3.0s. I intend for the plants to help with filtration and cover, so while the plants are important they are not the most important point of focus.
  10. Adam, I am referring to the model that the Co-op sells on its website.
  11. Hello everyone, I am setting up two 75 gallon tanks that are 21 inches deep. Given the depth of the tanks, will the Stingray light provide enough "oomph" to grow plants at that depth?
  12. Hello everyone, I am about to get a baby brine shrimp (bbs) hatchery going and I have a question about rinsing them once they hatch. I live in an area with tap water containing 1 to 2 parts per million chlorine. Would my fish suffer adverse affects from eating bbs rinsed in tap water containing said amounts of chlorine? Should I rinse the bbs in water pulled from one of my tanks to avoid any chlorine issues?
  13. I use a razor blade to scrape algae off glass. The razor blade had some rust on it and I’ve never had a problem.
  14. Hello everyone, I currently include frozen brine shrimp in the rotation of foods I feed my fish. However I am about to start feeding live baby brine shrimp since everyone raves about how good of a food they are, and because I am getting more into breeding my fish. My question is: does any empirical evidence exist proving that live baby brine shrimp constitutes a superior food to frozen brine shrimp? So far, most of the information I have found seems to present anecdotal evidence. Just curious what everyone on the forum thought.
  15. IDK, they just seem kind of cool. I ultimately went with some Tera Whisper pumps rated for up to 100g since my two new tanks are 75g.
  16. Cool. I picked up a few Co-Op sponge filters. How many tanks do you have and what fish do you like to keep?
  17. Thanks. Yeah, try to keep an eye out for tank sales. I picked up two 75g at Petco for $105 each. It was too good to pass up. Good luck with your future discuss tank. Any particular discuss strains you plan on keeping?
  18. Thanks for testing it out! So you are definitely getting enough output then?
  19. Oh! Do you think the nano airpumps are enough to run a medium/large sponge filter, or should I go and get a Tetra Whisper?
  20. Got yeah. If you don't mind, could you report back to the forum or at least let me know how the test goes? I am very curious to know what sort of results you will get. Thanks for all your help this morning.
  21. So two 48in lights per 75g. Why did you pick two over one?
  22. Thanks for the informative and quick reply. I appreciate your advice. Also, your angels look great. While you are here, let me ask you this: what lights do you run? I was going to buy the Finnex Stingray LED Lights that the COOP sells, but I want to make sure it can grow things like Amazon swords, Java Fern, Water Wisteria...I'm sure they do, otherwise Cory wouldn't sell them, but it reassures me when other aquarists give their opinion.
