Mystery snail eggs & inverts journal
Chick-In-Of-TheSea replied to Chick-In-Of-TheSea's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
No worries at all. Post here anytime. 🙂 Seems like it would be a food they would enjoy. Mine locate Snello quickly. When I use calcium, I either use powdered eggshells or calcium carbonate. Were there any other ingredients in the tablets you used? edit: I am sorry; you said there were not. next question- does the snail eat other foods you offer, and is the snail pretty active? I have not ventured into the baby food snellos yet. I’ve done boiled/puréed vegetables and I’ve also done a different recipe with Repashy. —- I’m having the other issue where my snails eat too much Snello. Everyone is sleeping it off today. I need to cut back my portions because they just binge til they are uncomfortable. Heh. No restraint! (But we humans do this too, with tasty food.) Those molds I used: the penguin, the candy cane etc. They are really cute but that portion is too big for my gang, I’m discovering.- 1,895 replies

Is Swiss Chard safe for mystery snails?

To add to this thread, I offered kale recently. Only one out of six mystery snails was interested. She finished it, but I will probably will not offer kale again. We need to please everyone. -
Hmm you are right, I do not see that Y shape like in the photos of the goldfish. Is there any direct contact of these guys w/ filter floss? Some people keep it in the tank, wrapped around a sponge filter for polishing the water, or they let it hang in the outflow of their hang-on-back filter to reduce flow, etc?

Ideas For Glofish Alternative
Chick-In-Of-TheSea replied to FLFishChik's topic in General Discussion
I was always partial to the skeleton drinking the rum. But at some point I had some sort of a river where the bubbles would go through it to look like the river was flowing, and when they'd exit, they'd spin a waterwheel. However, I did not have this one. 😆 -

At least it's not that wildly fluorescent stuff. You can kind of blend in the pirate chest and the star wars stuff with plants. -
Minanoras adventures in fishkeeping

I'm just catching up w/ the journal. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I'm hoping he got the point based on your body language & conversation and will leave you and your family alone. The storms sound horrible. Are they gone now? What state do you live in? How are you moving water around? Are you shop-vac'ing it, or did you have to buy pumps and stuff?- 622 replies

Touché Aquarium Co Op, for putting Super Glue Gel in the online shop! How convenient! Tank lids next. Please please! The glass ones on the market now; they never seem to fit right! And I reaaaalllly don't want to bust out power tools to make lids. I just don't. @Cory- 1,528 replies

Bolivian Ram Journal
Chick-In-Of-TheSea replied to Chick-In-Of-TheSea's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
He folds back his dorsal fin when he is giving a tetra the right-of-way. 🙂 He does run them off sometimes, though, if they get on his nerves. I guess it depends on his mood and how greedy they are acting. Hence the diversion at the beginning of the video. The flakes, to distract most of them. You are not the first person to say this!- 589 replies

Bolivian Ram Journal
Chick-In-Of-TheSea replied to Chick-In-Of-TheSea's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
This is the perfect size for Snoop. @nabokovfan87 suggested these. Snoopy's cichlid pellets were too big, and I crushed them. Problem is, a lot of that crushed stuff floats. He ate the stuff that reached him but I was feeling like the powdery crushed stuff on top was fouling the water too much. He still gets frozen foods and Repashy, plus whatever vegetables he shares with the snails.- 589 replies

Nice haul from my recent co op order. Got a shirt this time. Aquashella is coming up, and I have to make sure I look the part of NERM 😉. And oops! I must have put 2 vibra bites in the cart! Only need one. Who wants this other one? I will send it to you, RAOK.- 1,528 replies

My 29g has a hob, and I have water sprite in there. The flow at the top keeps the sprite to one corner, for the most part. I do use a prefilter sponge, and I haven’t noticed the water sprite go that deep or get pushed under anyway.
