  1. @nabokovfan87 the master of diagrams. ⭐ He recommended I put this background on my tank. Before: After:
  2. Ok how firm/sticky are bubble nest bubbles because Geppetto is swimming around with one attached to his fin. (???) or is this something I need to worry about?
  3. I like this! It looks like it has more depth, from front to back, the way the hardscape is now behind the hobbit house.
  4. That last one with the black foot. Is that an olive colored shell?
  5. .5 ml is only a few drops from a pipette. I thought it would require more than that.
  6. I used a 10g and when they started growing I had to water change twice a day (for 1 hatched clutch) to keep ammonia in check. @JJenna As eggs develop they will kind of look tan/gold, then some eggs will turn white and open(empty), then the clutch will start to look moldy. But it’s not mold, it’s that you’re starting to see snail shells through the eggs.
  7. Geppetto is acting like he’s on vacation swimming in that huge tote. He chased some bloodworms that I dragged through the water with the tongs. A good hunter. Also here’s a community tank vid. @Guppysnail the fish have discovered the Aponogeton and they love it. They look great in front of it too. Also I’ve been shopping for some time now for small silicone candy molds, when all this time the solution was right in front of me. I can reuse these packages!
  8. Alright. He is in quarantine with salt only. 1 T per 5 gal. I tried to make the environment fun. Lol Dont worry, everything gets sanitized after. The clay pot has no bottom so he can swim thru that as well. He’s trying to make a bubble nest already.
  9. Yeah Kratos has industrial strengths suction. I can’t move him unless he’s on a rock or something, then I can move the rock. Prepping the QT tote, already have a sponge filter well seasoned, just have to get the water to temp.
  10. Here is what I put in the disease thread: Temp 78 Nitrite 0 Ammonia 0 Nitrate 10 gH 180 kH 80 pH 7.5 Despite what I believe are good parameters, I did a 50% water change, again adding the IAL tea, and Prime. Temp has been increased to 80. @Odd Duck are the nerite and the plants going to be ok with the Kanaplex?
  11. @Moss , you might be interested in this thread here by @Fish Folk. @Fish Folk set up this aquarium at the school.
  12. Look at the dorsal fin, looks like spines. But no blackened, red, or clear edges. Everything I put in his tank , if any question at all as to snag, I sand it down.
  13. The sentence got mixed up but I think you are saying the 1 tablespoon per 5 gal water will not harm the plants? (Salt)
  14. They could fertile or infertile - never can tell. Hehehe. I mean until some time passes and you can see changes in the eggs- or maybe you don’t see anything happen. Because snails hold fertilized eggs for many months, as @Guppysnail mentioned. This was how I ended up hatching baby snails. I only had 1 snail!
  15. Cory showed a hack when he was demonstrating the easy planter. You split the rock wool in half and put a root tab in there, then close it back up and put the plant back in its plastic pot.
  16. Something is going on with Geppetto. Trying to sort it out here. Before adopting Geppetto I “energetically took notes” on @xXInkedPhoenixX colossal idiot thread. Given this is fin rot, based on my notes there are 3 alternatives to treat it: salt, maracyn2, or Kanaplex. I’m just waiting for confirmation that fin rot is what it is.
  17. Not going to be a thread hijacker, so please address @Karen B.’s questions/concerns first. A week or two ago my betta had a hole in his tail. That healed fully. I used Indian almond leaf tea and water dechlorinator Prime. Now, his tail is shorter and the hole has returned. I thought he had boredom and was tail biting so I added enrichment to the tank (several swim thrus and plants), and he utilizes them. But now, his dorsal fin is looking skeletal, for lack of a better word. Also the longer part of the dorsal fin appears to be rigid, does not move/sway when he turns. Any ideas? Temp 78 Nitrite 0 Ammonia 0 Nitrate 10 gH 180 kH 80 pH 7.5 Despite what I believe are good parameters, I did a 50% water change, again adding the IAL tea, and Prime.
