  1. I don't think that a fish louse it doesn't have the legs and you don't usually get them in large numbers on the glass of your aquarium it looks familiar but a can't place it hopefully someone else can give a positive ID
  2. I would remove it back to quarantine if it's showing symptoms columnaris is a gram negative bacterial you would want to treat with a combination of kanaplex and jungal fungus clear fizz tabs containing nitrofurazone following this treatment if it were columnaris I would have expected to have spread to some of your other fish have you notice white patches on the back of your fish any signs of mouth rot such as white lips any redding to the the spots if can get a picture that would be helpful
  3. Could be egg bound or the start of Dropys what I would do is quarantine and do Epsom salt baths 1 table spoon for 1 gallon for no more than 15 minutes for 5 days as Epsom salt acts as a muscle relaxant to help release her eggs and it will also help with any possible fluid buildup and a course of metroplex in food feeding a small amount twice a day for upto 3 weeks
  4. What are your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate etc can you post a picture of the sick fish it will help with a diagnosis any pineconing @David Retired LEO
  5. If it's ich then I would treat all the fish with ick X and a small amount of aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 10 gallons as ich causes massive electrolyte loss and the salt will add back in essential electrolytes @Scaperoot
  6. Looking at your water parameters as you have very high KH I would expect you to have a high pH what could be happening is that your tap water could have a lower pH when you do a water it temporarily lowers your pH before it shoots back up again or you have some hardscrape that raising your pH I think the large swings in your pH are more than likely what has been killing some of your fish
  7. It could be a slight hemorrhage to the eye that's more visible now the white flim has started to come off if the the eye is visible bleeding I would holed off on the salt baths just in case you cause more trauma to the eye when you catch him no I wouldn't add more maracyn I would just keep treating following the instructions on the box if your just removing 1 gallon of water for your salt baths it shouldn't dilute the medication to the point that it's less effective

    Fish meds

I have never kept it in the fridge it always been fine
  9. What I do is use tank water as it has the same water parameters and temperature for salt baths and just top off the tank I have used large amounts of almond leaves to my tanks to simulate leaf litter it only lowered my pH by 0.3 as you have very hard water it shouldn't affect your pH it very beneficial

Yes you can I stopped adding kanaplex to food because it's poorly absorbed by the intestinal tract metroplex and maracyn2 very effective when added to food you can use focus with all the powdered medication you have he's some medicated food recipe I use for metroplex and maracyn2
  11. Popeye can because by a number of things such as poor water quality bacterial infections injury when it's in one eye it's usually caused by an injury as you have live plants I would do aquarium salt baths 1 table spoon for 1 gallon for no more than 15 minutes for 5 days the salt will help reduce the swelling of the eye I would add more Indian almond leaves as they have antibacterial and antifungal properties depending on the quality of the leaves you might have to add one leaf per gallon to get a beneficial effect and monitor for the next couple of days give an update if you seeing no improvement after the 5 days of salt baths @Skymoon
  12. How much crushed coral did you add

    Fish meds

What I like to have on hand is kanaplex and jungal fungus clear fizz tabs containing nitrofurazone for more serious bacterial infections such as columnaris maracyn2 is good alternative antibiotic treatment to kanaplex for gram negative bacteria it a more effective medication than kanaplex when added to food as it easily adsorbed by the intestinal tract it good for treating epistylis I would have maracyn on hand for gram positive bacteria and metroplex treats anaerobic bacterial infections and hexamita the parasite associated with hole in the head infections if you have Ick X you won't need maracyn oxy as Ick X treats the same types of fungal infections as maracyn oxy

    Fish meds

You have a good selection I would add prazipro and ick X maracyn2 with the other medications you already have that will treat most of the commonly encountered bacterial and parasitic infections I wouldn't recommend primafix or melafix there not very effect treatments for anything more serious there more like a mild antiseptic treatment Maracyn active ingredient is erythromycin is antibiotic treatment that's more effective at treating gram positive bacterial infections while maracyn oxy active ingredient is sodium chlorite that's more effective at treating fungal infections
  15. What substrate are you using and did your add any rocks that could be releasing mineral that could be raising your pH
  16. What I would do is test your tap waters pH by putting it in a bucket with an air stone for 24hr to allow it to off gas that will give you an accurate reading for your pH @Chris C.
  17. Your water parameters are fine it's not uncommon for goldfish to get spooked and to swim into something in the tank if it's an injury it will just need time to heal if you don't have live plants I would treat with aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons for a week
  18. What are your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate etc as most cases of cloudy eye are caused by poor water quality it could also be an injury to the eye
  19. What makes a good fish keeper is patience willingness to learn from your mistakes putting the fish's welfare first giving them the appropriate tanks size for the fish your keeping not making impulse buys doing your research
  20. As he's still not eating or passing anything what I would do is dose the tank with maracyn2 inbetween your next treatment of Expel p and give us an update in a week
  21. Colu

    Velvet, ich, or?

It's difficult to tell off your picture if the spots are raised he's how you tell the difference between ich and epistylis if it's epistylis you want maracyn2 in food feeding a small amount twice a day for 7 days and ick x or aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 2 gallons if you have live plants I would treat with maracyn2 and ick X if you don't have live plants then I would treat with maracyn2 and salt @Furbs
  22. Am not seeing much if any improvement if your still treating with Expel p I would finish the 4 weeks of treatment I would also do a course of maracyn2 in food feeding a small amount twice a day for 7 days just in case theirs a bacterial component also the active ingredient in maracyn2 minocycline has anti-inflammatory properties
  23. Colu

    Ich help

1 table spoon for 10 gallons is fine to use most aquarium plants can tolerate a higher dose of salt for a shorter amount of time I use salt in my planted tank all the time in small amounts have not had any problems
  24. Maracyn2 is shrimp safe
  25. What I would recommend doing is combined treatment as this has been going on for a long time I would treat with Expel p once a week for 4 weeks and do a course of maracyn2 in food feeding a small amount twice a day for 7 days that will cover bacterial and parasitic infection
