  1. tanks look great, just keep up the patience. you dont have any fish to worry about time will balance your problem. ive seen videos with no ferts no filters and guy didnt add fish until month 2.
  2. ill have to look into that, indiana has band some more plants recently. DNR: Aquatic Invasive Species - Plants WWW.IN.GOV Indiana Department of Natural Resources Aquatic Invasive Species Plants
  3. i threw a silca packet in my food. its a experiment to see if it will help keep moisture, i got mine out of a beef jerky packet. 🤣
  4. If cycled tank will remove it, but if you have ammonia you can use prime and water change, it will bind it for 24 hours but it will just release back into tank after that.
  5. https://www.amwater.com/twq/greaterjeffersonvillearea_twq.pdf this is for my local area, something like this from your local water company will help you get a understanding of whats coming from your tap.
  6. yeah it goes over my head too cause the test dont tell you whats actually making your water hard. i find it best just to go online to my local water company site and find out what the public water tests show.
  7. understandable. i would just buy the liquid ammonia by api when your funds replenish, its alot cheaper for the amount of test you get out of it.
  8. i think the app is by tetra it just uses the camera to see the colors and give you a reading, its probably highly unaccurate cause light can effect how its seen.
  9. i wouldnt worry so much about the numbers on everything. just worry about getting ammonia and nitrites to zero. When it comes to GH KH test i find the liquid test is alot easier to read. each drop is 1 degree until it changes color. 12 drops 12 degress.
  10. Reworked the 55 gallon livebearer and add moss balls to the 10 betta. Whatcha think? Added dragon rock and cryptocoryne wendtii red. Rearranged pogostemon & ludwiga reopens red. To the left is a small sanctuary for my pregnant molly 🤪
  11. how much ferts are you dosing after water change? maybe your plants are not using all your putting in there. maybe try smaller dose with water change?
  12. i know fake plant with real ones, try not to puke on your screens. 🤢🤢
  13. i think as long as the tadpoles are bigger then the endlers mouth youll be fine
  14. Im at 6.8 ph and havent had any issues. the tank im referencing ive had going for 6 months now
  15. What you have planned out seems sound to me. I buy RO from my local fish store and they recommended what your doing. Nice thing is you have hard/high pH water so if you pH drops you can just add some primed water. My tap water is a 8.2 and i do a 80RO/20Tap ratio and it works for me. You'll just have to experiment with your ratio.
  16. I personally have never raised them up all the way, but this video is seems very informative.
  17. I do have a 25 gallon stock tub but I don’t have any biological filter to put in it do you think she would be all right in there by herself and 20 gallons of water. Plus plants
  18. I wanted a way to bring nature into the house during covid and the hobby has just taken off for me, plus its so relaxing. MTS is real started with a 35 cube, now have 2 10 gals and a 55 😆
  19. I have a molly that looks like she's ready to pop. should I just try to provide as much cover as possible for her to give birth or move her. I have Java Moss and some other stem plants. I'm afraid the breeder box will stress her to death, and the male molly's will not stay off her underside.
  20. ive had success keeping other fish with a betta... just make sure they can break line of sight with the betta.
