Will a 5 gal water pump filter a 10 gal betta tank?
AtomCatMatt replied to Oriole Lyric's topic in General Discussion
just to quote cory in you have plants your really dont need a filter you just need to make the water move around... the 5 gallon filter will be fine for the ten gallon, your plants are doing work too, nature's filter.- 10 replies

My crypts sit about like this maybe you could have them down a tad bit to far. I make sure the roots are under that’s it. over time they buried themselves naturally.

Nice, me to Karen I had to get a half teaspoon and scoop it out. I’m think of trying to find a old Parmesan cheese shake or something equivalent to shake it out

Was at LFS saw a different dry fry food. Picked some up to try it out. It’s 100% Antarctic Krill and it’s 250 micron. It’s like powder about the size of baby brine. My guppie and molly fry tore it up. Has anyone else tried this. https://www.amazon.com/NorthFin-Starter-Formula-Fish-Food/dp/B01LZP2OUW

They order twice a week from over seas and once a month from Florida. I live right next to ups world port so even if they don’t need them shipping is quick.

That seems nice too. I enjoy corys. I’ll have to ask the lfs what there demand is like they don’t really keep a big tank of them though.

I live right near the falls of Ohio river and there’s tons of driftwood. I’m thinking of scavenging some. Is there anything I should avoid. I know to avoid softwoods. Any advice to tell the difference.

Do y’all think I should remove the rocks? Would they affect plant runners? I used about 1.5” soil organic 1” sand with pebbles on top

Very nice setup @Paul . I was probably gonna do a apisto @Daniel cause I love them too. but I figured I would get some suggestions the community can be more open minded. I usually do what I like anyway 😂

I’m thinking apistogramma cacatuoide, what’s your suggestions. All fish tend to be popular around here. I’ve already have livebearer’s and I’m not big on pelco’s. 😎🐟⁉️

AtomCatMatt replied to AtomCatMatt's topic in Plants, Algae, and Fertilizers
Yeah the tank I have this banana plant in is slightly acidic Ph is 6.5 to 6.8. I use RO/DI cause my tap is Ph of 7.8. and hard -
I think someone said in another post this one is scheduled for November 1 - November 11. Sometimes they run out of stock, so getting there sooner rather than later is usually a good idea. They do it’s in store pick up only. And can we order ahead I decided I a 20 long, gonna breed rams or appisto’s

Must have been pretty neat to experience that. What thickness sand cap did you use for your tank?

Stretching it’s way across. Pretty neat little plant. Hopefully I can find In ponds around here like @Daniel did in NC. If not Aqua Coop got my back.
