  1. My wild caught isopod culture, that I’m waiting to breed until I put them in with my dude
  2. some people may know what’s going on, other won’t so I’ll give a brief rundown I got more fish recently (a female Bolivian ram and some neon tetras) and the neons started dying off, along with male endlers and ember tetras. This morning I found spooky (my male Bolivian ram) with a tiger endler in his mouth. I am getting medication and a fry/ timeout net to put him in to see what is killing the fish with the background out of the way, if it is spooky, I’ll need to move him to a new tank (luckily I have a 20 high sitting in my closet) but no established substrate or filter. so how can I sadly setup an other tank quickly, with the caveat of it may not be him, so I won’t necessarily need it. Is there anyway to be able to sadly throw together a tank with an unestablished filter and substrate for him to sift?
  3. I don’t think he is trying to eat them, but I think with the addition of a possible mate he is extra territorial I have considered illness (I have a thread on that as well) but all the coincidences are hard to keep writing off as just coincidences
  4. Alit more expensive, not as customizable, takes up lots of space, time consuming for them, they would be losing money, ect noe established hard scape, filters and substrate may be an interesting idea
  5. I don’t have the meds so I probably am going to pick it up, I think it may not be disease related as all the dead fish are smaller neon tetras ember tetras or smaller MALE endlers also doesn’t help I found a tiger endler in mr spooks mouth also none of the fish (except the one neon tetra) have no symptoms when they were dead or alive and they all were still colored up all of the fish are acting normal so I think it may be a VERY naughty ram i got clearance to set up a temporary tank for spooks to see if the deaths stop and if he is the culprit I’m not really sure what I’m going to do
  6. As of recent my 40 b has been going through what can only be described as a mass extinction event, every day 2-3 fish are showing up dead with no obvious signs of death, I’m scrambling not sure what is killing them i have a few theories, disease or what pertains to this post… my beloved male Bolivian ram spooky hr has been living with most of his tank mates fine for months (with the exception, cherry shrimp which I have already posted about) but as of recently I got a female for him to hopefully mate with because rams are super interesting parents with the female introduced, he has been chasing her around and this morning I found… him with a tiger endler stuck in his mouth!!!! I’m not sure if he just found it dead or he gave it the good ol triple m134 as such his name sake does i keep this posted, as I got my eye on you spooky!!!! moral, a pair of Bolivians may be a bit to boisterous
  7. Another tiger endler male died, this time it was stuck in spookies mouth i don’t think it’s him eating them but I’m not sure
  8. Yay but this is one stinking big boi!!!! it is a female so maybe that’s why
  9. The growth on the neon tetra is worse I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t last the night
  10. Right so just checked my tank again scratch another neon
  11. That’s what I thought, I even asked the employee at the shop and he said they didn’t have any (they are trying to get them in because they can live with larger fish) I just wasn’t sure because THATS ONE DAMB BIG SHRIMP!!! I am try to rule out candidates for why a ton of my fish are dying
  12. Another 2 fish died 1 male tiger endler 1 ember tetra also this neon has some form of growth
  13. So I recently got more fish for my 40 b some neons and a female Bolivian ram first or second day after getting them I found one neon dead. Ok fine probably just didn’t acclimate well enough since then about every day I have came home to one of the new neons dead, no big deal probably just acclimated wrong yesterday I came back to a neon and a ember tetra dead, I figured not that important I’ll put it on the back burner (I didnt really have time to do anything because I have been busy) but to day I came home to a male endler dead definitely sketchy parameters no3- 10 no2- 0 Gh 300 kh 120 ph 6.4 cl 0 nh4- 0 all the dead fish seem visually fine (ie no spots or parasites) and they all were acting fine mind you all of the old fish (endlers, and embers) have been in basically the exact parameters for months so them dying from parameters is unlikely @Coluany thoughts?
  14. The smaller female is getting chased a bit, but she seems ok, I have dimmed the lights so that it’s harder to see her, probably just a mix of smaller size and establishing dominance he isn’t constantly chasing her just showing who’s in charge the photo actually of spooky flaring his fins and her flaring back
  15. He has decided to become semi arboreal and loves climbing a succulent on the cold area
  16. Got a female Bolivian ram an some more neons because my embers seem to be disappearing not pointing any fingers SPOOKY
  17. the corner of our backyard is apparently part of this box turtle’s territory, and our dogs does not like that! a little water snake that was living in the stairs down to the basement door a lil buddy who helped me do some gardening
