  1. I live on the edge and dump boiling water on the rocks. Need some excitement round here. #YOLO (Ok well, I put them at the bottom of a 5g bucket 1st.) After they cool off, I dump hydrogen peroxide on them. Then rinse a few times with tap water. And scrub with a toothbrush. I think you’re ok with dumping boiling water on rocks.* They do it in saunas all the time. Heard that rocks can explode if you actually boil them though (in a pot on the stove). *This advice is opinion. What do I know? (I survived it w/ river rocks… so far! 😝)
  2. I drip acclimate but made the care sheet for newer hobbyist who are most likely familiar with floating fish or snails in a bag. Tank water can be added to the bag periodically to help them acclimate.
  3. To hatch prepare to float a small Tupperware in the tank. [After 24 hrs of being laid] Remove clutch from glass (gently turn and pull) and put on a dry papertowel on top of a damp (tank water) paper towel in the Tupperware. Poke holes in lid of Tupperware with a pushpin or a pen. Place lid tightly on Tupperware. To NOT hatch, freeze clutch in ziplock (to prevent development). Crush once frozen. Dispose.
  4. My little guys seem to hang near the bigger ones, so when the dust or whatnot comes off the pellet, the little guys eat that while the big guys keep control of the pellet. Normally I’d suggest bacter ae. All my shrimp love it and there’s a lot of activity when I drop it in. But given your worm situation, I wouldn’t advise it. Always keep catappa leaf in there. Various sized shrimp enjoy it. Babies eat the biofilm, and bigger shrimps eat the leaf itself. And you’ll want to have some moss; I don’t think you mentioned moss. I don’t think you need to crush it. The little crumbs will come off when one shrimp starts picking at it, and nearby smaller shrimps will eat that. They kinda tag along with their older sisters and brothers. Also mine adore soilent green Repashy. There’s never any leftovers. Plus I sometimes swirl Repashy powder in for the kids. But.. worms probably would like that too.
  5. I think they are still too small to go in the community tank. They might get eaten.
  6. Looks like a nap to me. 🙂 Mine nap every few hours. But especially with full tummies
  7. Isn’t this a new setup? Did they come in on plants or something?
  8. Suddenly the shrimp thread is about snails. I will help I have some of these guys, wild type I guess. Wondering if I should cull them out to a planted vase or something? Or they could go to my 29 but there are a bunch of tetras in there. Also the temp is 78 which I’m not sure is the best for molts.
  9. Snoopy does have quite the pout today, doesn’t she? ☺️
  10. A betta would have a blast in that worm tank. Also that video is adorable.
  11. Time for a shrimp photo @TeeJay! I hear you have quite the horde now.
  12. Nibbles came in on a plant! At the time I was salt dipping my plants. Somehow that didn't phase him; I didn't even know he was there. He stays peppercorn size.
