TheSwissAquarist
Sorry all for being AWOL. I’ve started some breeding projects, but it’s the last 4 week stretch until the end of the semester and all the teachers have decided to put tests. Take care! 🐟

TheSwissAquarist
Seeing as today is a religious holiday in Switzerland, my mum thought it would be a great idea to give me a betta to celebrate. She got back from a trip to IKEA and said that she had a surprise…yikes. Any name ideas? Bonus pic of Gretel about to snarf popcorn: 1 1
xXInkedPhoenixX
Name: Torro, reason: Ok, in Spanish Toro is bull, and red Betta remind me of Spanish Bullfighters and their "Muleta" or red cape, but TORRO with 2 R also stands for the tornado intensity scale which also reminds me of how fierce Betta can be. 2 1

That’s a really good name! Torro it is! I think my neons are getting all lovey-dovey. Do you guys think that a large water change (imitate rain season) could help?
Beardedbillygoat1975
@TheSwissAquaristabsolutely you can trigger a spawn and neons are definitely doable. Also really enjoyed catching up on your thread.

You need to put a craft mesh or something on the bottom because tetras will eat their own eggs after they scatter them. The mesh allows the eggs to fall through. If you go back to page 3 or 4 of this journal, and about every fifth page since, you'll see that I've been trying to get a supposedly _easy_ fish to breed for quite some time. 😅 Do you breed any fish? Lennie
Not sure if cichlid babies would be interested, but I am very happy with sera micron lately. @Guppysnail suggested me that food and wow! My livebearer babies go crazy. Even the adults 😄 it has %51 spirulina, %18 krill and artemia in it. When my fry get a lil bigger, I give live bbs and crush NLS and Dainichi pellets and feed them 1

I start with Sera micron and golden pearl 5-50 and 50-100 micron. You can get San Francisco strain BBS eggs that hatch out smaller and start harvesting at 18 hours once they are out of the cave for about a week.
