What do you consider "Nano" fish?
TheSwissAquarist replied to PineSong's topic in General Discussion
Nano meaning for me, is anything that can happily live in at least a 5 to 15 gal. I would love to imply the size rule, but Kuhli Loaches positively love my 12 gallon (think I found eggs!) and they’re a 3 inch fish. Interesting debate though! -
Cichlid salts to raise water hardness?
TheSwissAquarist replied to Sultrysamurai's topic in General Discussion
Buffer salts could work, though normally I’d advise crushed coral or wonder shells. At the end of the day it does the same thing 😏. Hope your next shrimp survive! -
Trimming Dead Leaves
TheSwissAquarist replied to DustinJWagner's topic in Plants, Algae, and Fertilizers
The Aponogeton could be dying back because it hasn’t had its annual hibernation thing - read up on that. As for the dwarf sag, how long have you had it? -
Is this on the webcam?

What kind of Apistos or Corys were you thinking about? I’d put a couple of average plants in which you can find in a big box store. As for a school of fish, I would suggest Rummy nose or neon/cardinal tetras. Good Luck and keep us posted! Here’s my dads show tank. Amazonian biotope with 150 neons (we started with 20)

@KittenFishMomand @TOtrees might have something to add.

So far my go-to cure for algae on plants is reverse respiration. For the rest, I just scrape it off.

Is one dreaming of youth @Chick-In-Of-TheSea? I’m more into classic rock (Queen, Bowie). -
How long have you been in the hobby for?

I take it your birthday is May 17 ? -
Post a picture please! It’s been about a year since we stopped breeding them.

Siamese Algae Eaters do an OK job. -
That’s all that’s important: A beautiful fish saved from mistreatment and given a decent home after being nursed back to health.

Any idea on how to breed African Dwarf Frogs?
TheSwissAquarist replied to TheSwissAquarist's topic in Fish Breeding
Thanks for the effort! -
I would be willing to ship it from Switzerland (just below Germany) if you are desperate 😉. PM me if you’re interested.🤷♂️ Is this against forum rules?

I’ve always wanted to keep geckos! (My parents said that nothing which had scaled and lived on land was allowed in the house😢)

The Accidental Oto Keeper

Out of interest, why do you remove the babies? Is it because of tank-mates? -
We used to do Dalmatian puppies for a while, which were almost as cute as those Guinea pig babies. Here’s our male, Polo, who I think is 2% Spaniel and 98% Dalmatian.

I’d have to creep in my grandmothers garden in the dead of night dressed entirely in black, and abseil down a wall whilst not being seen by the snipers on the roof. That accomplished, I would then crawl under the trip wires and dodge the Siberian Tiger to pick 10 magnolia leaves before being airlifted out by a helicopter. (i.e. My Grandmother is very protective about her magnolias so no I haven’t tried them yet, sorry)

I’d suggest either cherry barbs or a fun color variant of the Zebra Danio. -

I love the head colors on the (male?) centre right bird! Closest thing to a bird I have is this little duck-hunter. Good thing: she’s scared of swimming😂
