Your Favorite Most Rare/Exotic fish you own.
Max G replied to James V.'s topic in General Discussion
The rarest fish I own is the puntinus titteya. They are vunrable in the wild and face habitat destruction. All jokes aside I think that cherry barbs are underrated and more people should keep them. -
I could probably find quite a few clubs near me as I am only a tube ride away from London.

What did the fish say when it swam into a wall? Dam!

Feed them well! There is powdered food made for bamboo shrimp but I think repashy powder will work aswell. I used to have some and they were really cool!

I caught 2 but haven't gotten round to building anything nice for them yet. Currently in a 4 by 3 pond (I guess) in the ground. Don't tell PETA.... :-)))

I think a geofagus could fit well. They sift through sand and also get some nice colours. I've never kept pictus cats but I've heard that they can hog all the food which might be a problem with the rays. Maybe another member knows more.

I think a bamboo shrimp would be lovely! Sit around all day while food is just washed into your hands.

Love the look of the obsidian(I'm assuming it's the black rocks). They have some cool edges and look so glassy. -
It just seems like a good reason to get two fishtanks!

I think some cherry barbs would look great! The males look really cool when in breeding dress. Also very hardy with watter conditions. -
Never knew that I could get those on amazon :-), however I don't think that they are the Co Op ones. I'll probably get one anyways and run it with a power bank.

Yes I think a air pump would be safer off so that there is air exchange as there is already a build up of scum at the surface

I'm not sure that that would work. Has anybody used solar powered air pumps?

We have had a small tub(around 10 to 15 g) in the back corner of our garden for a few years and this year I'm hoping to add some white clouds to it. The problem is that I'm not sure how to filter it. We have no outdoor plug sockets and running a cable from the house isn't really an option. I have african water lettuce and some oxygenating pond stem plant, not sure what kind. Side note: I live in England, UK so Co Op products aren't available. Anybody know how I could do this? Any help is appreciated

Funny moments in your fish-keeping experience
Max G replied to Just a Pygmy Corydora's topic in General Discussion
I was looking around a fish store with my mum when she tapped me on the shoulder and was quite concerned as to all the fish in one tank were all dead. I looked at the tank and then had to explain to her that clown loaches are weird and sleep on their side! Deffinately put a smile on my face. Side note: does anybody know why loaches sleep like this?
